After the lesson ended, we all gathered our belongings and began to walk out of the room. "Wanna go to the lake?", "Merlin, I'm starving..!", "I gotta run! See you later!", I hear how the classmates all around are talking to their friends when we exit. As soon as we get to the hallway, Remus and I waved our goodbyes at the doorway and he continued his way. Detention, here I come. "And... One for you as well. Hopefully I'll see you this time around." Professor Slughorn's joyful voice carried to my ears, and I turned to look over the shoulder what's happening. Inside the classroom, near by his desk, Slughorn hands a letter of some kind to Snape, who takes it with his usual expressionless face which makes it harder to catch on what is all about. He doesn't seem happy, nor upset by it. Seems like Snape isn't the only one that got a letter from the Potions Master. Lily and Malfoy are standing there as well. They also seemed have receive same kind of looking letter from the Potions Master. Wonder what it is?

Lily smiles sweetly and does this small curtsy before rushing out of the room, saying she got Quidditch practice to go to. Automatically, Snape's eyes follows the girl, but quickly they landed on me when Lily ran past me and went out of sight. He and Malfoy quickly exchanged couple words with the Professor and got out of the classroom as well. Malfoy gave me the side-eye as he walked past me. I just hope I won't be running into him and his friends any time soon. My thoughts gets cut off when Snape walks past me without stopping. Since we're heading the same place, I might as well walk there with him. Not even a minute goes by when I couldn't keep it in and I ask, hoping he'll give me more details:"I saw you got a letter.". No answer. He just keeps walking a step ahead. Hmph.

For a moment longer, we keep on walking up the stairs in silence. Only the sound of our steps echoing around can be heard. "Do you know what it is about?" I finally asked. No answer. "Has it something to do with Potions?" I asked again. No answer. "Are you in troubl..-", the Slytherin stopped on his tracks and sharply turned around to face me:"It'll be you who'll get in trouble, if you won't stop asking more ridiculous questions.". Instinctively, I raised my hands up as defence:"Alright, alright. Sorry. I was just curious. That's all.". The irritated look on his face goes down a bit, like he just remembered our deal we've made, and what's it for him. "It's an invitation." he simply revealed before continuing to walk ahead. Invitation? "What for?" I ask and come walk side by side with him. Snape rolled his eyes and let out a quiet groan at the same time.

After we came to the Central Hall and couple of students walked past us, Snape continued to tell:"To his ridiculous Christmas party he hosts each year.". My face brightens out of joy:"Really?! That sounds so much fun!". No answer. He doesn't seem to be impressed. "How come I haven't heard such a party before?" I wondered. The Slytherin let out bored sigh:"It is only for the members of the Slug Club.". Slug Club? I don't even have to ask when Snape already says:"The club is only for the people who are talented enough to get Professor Slughorn's attention.". Really? Somehow him telling me all of this made me feel... Quite small. 'Talented enough.' "But - like each year, I refuse to go." he continued. Both of my eyebrows raised:"What? Why?". One would think it'd be huge honor. Severus keeps his focus ahead the whole time:"It's full of pretentious people, kissing the floors the old man walks in - hopes in for better grades and gaining more House points.". Hmph. Or perhaps you're just a party pooper and don't know how to have fun.

Snape stopped walking again and gave me this very threatening look, and I quickly remembered; he can read minds! Luckily, we had arrived right at the entry of the library, where our Caretaker has been waiting for us, so Snape didn't have the time to berate me. And before I knew it, we were once again left alone in the Restricted Section. While placing my school and robe to aside, I began to wonder; did James's and Sirius's discussion last weekend had something to do with the Christmas party by any chance? 'Still after that Evan's, huh?' "What are you think you're doing?" Snape suddenly asked when I had rolled up my sleeves and was about to put the books where they belong. "Hm?" I turned to see him standing near the table I had placed my belongings.
