SOLARA’S POV
This is his fault. If he just kept his mouth shut then I wouldn’t be in this predicament. Well fine, kung hindi ako nag cliff diving then wala sanang problema in the first place pero kahit na. Okay naman na sana e. Curse you, Jeric Teng! So here we are now with my mother dragging me back to our suite. Her grip was so tight and it’s starting to really hurt but I didn’t bother complaining, lalo lang siyang magagalit. My dad and brother were trying to keep up and I felt really bad because they weren’t able to eat dinner because of me. I know my dad is disappointed but I’m sure he’s not mad. He will always take my side no matter what. I’m a daddy’s girl through and through. Kuya Xave on the other hand is forever neutral. He’ll hear both sides before assessing things. As soon as we got in, my mom ordered me to sit on the sofa. She’s still angry but at least it somehow subsided on our way here. My parents stood over me and my brother sat on the stool in the bar area.
“What were you thinking? Anak naman ano ba ang problema? What if something bad happened to you again? Hindi mo ba naisip yun? Hindi mo kami naisip ng papa at kuya mo?” Mom started.
“I know it was stupid. Believe me. But at that time it seemed like a good idea. I’ve seen a lot of people do it and I just want to try it myself.”
“Sweetie, you know it’s dangerous. I don’t even think cliff diving is allowed here,” Dad said.
“I’m sorry, okay? Alam ko wala ng magagawa pero yun lang naman ang pwede kong sabihin ngayon e,” I answered.
“Those kids, the ones in the dining hall, sila ba yung kasama mo? Pinilit ka ba nilang gawin yan?” Mom asked.
“Of course not! They actually saved me. I almost died and I-“
“YOU WHAT?!” They all screamed. Even Kuya Xave suddenly stood up from his chair.
“No I uhh… I mean…” Oh shit, I got no escape. “You see, after I jumped, well it was too high I guess I don’t really know and remember pero nawalan ako ng malay pagkabagsak ko sa tubig. So they sort of helped and got me out.”
“Oh my god! Unbelievable! That’s it! You are grounded for the rest of the summer!”
“Mom, you can’t ground me, I’m 21 years old.”
“SOL! Stop it,” both dad and kuya reprimanded me.
My dad took my mom on the side and they were talking. It seems like they were bargaining and it’s probably regarding my punishment. I looked at my brother and he smiled sheepishly. I feel mad, guilty, frustrated, sad, tired, and hungry all at the same time. Then I remembered him again. Jeric Teng. His face, his voice, his stare. Nung nagising ako after ko mawalan ng malay yung boses niya yung una kong narinig ‘Miss, are you okay? How do you feel now?’. Then when I opened my eyes siya rin agad ang una kong nakita. Medyo hindi pa nga ako naka-react agad kasi sobrang lapit niya sa akin. Too close for comfort but I admit he’s cute. Sobrang familiar din niya na parang nakita ko na siya before I just can’t put my finger on it. Almira didn’t elaborate what really happened basta sabi lang niya both her brothers jumped in to save me then hinila na nila ko hanggang sa pampang. Hindi narin ako nagtanong pa basta I’m grateful for what they did. Pero sa sitwasyon ngayon napalitan ng sobrang inis yung nararamdaman ko for Jeric. Pag naaalala ko siya naiirita ako.
