JERIC’S POV
I’m not sure but I think ito na ang pinakamabilis kong pagtakbo sa buhay ko. I don’t why but I have this sense of urgency to save her, to make sure that she’s okay. Yes, I know that she’s a total stranger but there’s something about that girl. Parang nagkaroon ng sariling buhay yung legs ko. In my mind I was thinking ‘Jeric, you fool, run faster’ and to be honest sobrang weird pero dahil sa sitwasyon I decided to not dwell on it. Jeron was running behind me but not far away and I can hear na medyo hinihingal na siya. Sina Achi at Shobe naman sobrang layo pa hirap din sa pagsunod sa amin which is understandable.
“Shoti, bilisan mo pa!”
“I’m trying, Ahia! Ang hirap tumakbo kasi mabato!”
When we got to the spot where she should’ve landed, hindi na ako nagdalawang isip. I took my shirt off then jumped into the sea to find her. I didn’t even wait for Jeron anymore. I was having a hard time because I’m not used to open my eyes underwater pero pinilit ko talaga kahit mahapdi dahil saltwater nga. I dived deeper trying to catch even a glimpse of her. After 30 seconds I had no choice but to go up the surface for oxygen. Nakita ko nasa tubig narin si Jeron but the girls stayed on dry land.
“Did you see her?” I asked Jeron.
“Not yet.”
I took another deep breath to go for another dive but bigla akong pinigilan ni Shoti.
“Wait, I think that’s her. YES SIYA NGA!” Jeron shouted sabay turo dun sa may medyo malaking bato.
I immediately swam towards her. Every second is vital. Nauna ako kay Jeron makarating sa kanya and I got scared because she was floating face down. I wrapped my arms around her waist and turned her over gently. Then I saw her face and I was stunned. Sobrang ganda niya! Probably the most beautiful girl I’ve ever seen in my life. Long wavy black hair, smooth and fair skin, small and pointed nose, long eyelashes, and full red lips. She’s quite tall also siguro 5’7 or 5’8 and tamang-tama yung proportion ng katawan niya. She’s like an angel and a goddess in one. You might think that I’m exaggerating but I swear she is damn perfect.
“Anak ng! Ahia, dumadamoves ka pa sa sitwasyon ngayon?! Halika ka na kanina pa siya walang malay ano ba!” inis na may halong pang-aasar na sabi ni Jeron.
“Gago! Tara bilis tulungan mo ko.”
We both swam while supporting her towards the shore. Yung dalawang babae sumunod nalang at tumatakbo nadin sila papunta sa tabing-dagat. When the water was just up to my thighs I carefully cradled and carried her bridal style. She was still unconscious. I got really worried by that time. What the fuck were you thinking? Why did you jump? No matter how hard life is that’s no reason to kill yourself. I put her down as soon as we hit solid ground. Achi immediately checked her vital signs, airway, and breathing.
“Move, Jeric. We gotta administer CPR. Ako na sa compression since ako lang naman marunong. Hindi pwedeng basta basta lang dahil may possibility mag-crack ang rib cage pag hindi marunong yung gumawa. Ikaw nalang mag blow ng hangin sa mouth niya.”
