JERIC’S POV

My class just ended and I was talking to my classmates when my phone rang. Since I broke my Note 2 and wala pang kapalit I’m using a spare one. I checked who’s calling and Lauren’s name flashed on the screen.

“Guys, excuse lang. I have to answer this,” I said and they nodded.

I stood up then pressed answer and greeted, “Hi Lauren! What’s up?”

“OH MY GOD JERIC! Something happened to Sol you need to come here right now!”

“WHAT?! ANONG NANGYARI TELL ME!”

“Later na. We’re about to take her to the emergency naghahantay lang ng pwede tumulong magbuhat. Hindi na kaya sa clinic ‘to.”

“SHIT! WHERE ARE YOU?”

“Restroom dito sa St. Martin de Forbes.”

“I’m coming wait for me,” I said before hanging up the phone.

I wasn’t able to say goodbye to my friends anymore and ran my ass off. A heard a series of “Hoy Jeric!” and “Bro, san ka pupunta?!” from them but I didn’t stop. My Solara needs me and I have to be with her as soon as possible. Sobrang kinakabahan ako kasi hindi ko alam ang dadatnan ko dun. Less than 5 minutes nakarating na ko. Malayo palang kita ko na yung commotion so I figured sila yun. I saw Lauren and Joanne with blood on their hands and arms. I gasped and felt my chest tightening by the minute. Then out came two security guards with an unconscious Solara in tow. My tears threatened to fall when I saw her like that. There’s caked blood all over her face and neck. Her white uniform was tainted with crimson stains. She appeared so lifeless and it scared me to death. I walked the last few steps towards them.

“Mga kuya ako na,” I said.

“Hindi na Jeric. Delikado baka hindi mo kaya kami na bahala mahihirapan ka pa,” one of the guards answered.

“Kaya ko ho. Sige na please,” I repeated.

“Wag na. Sumunod nalang kayo sa amin at kanina pa walang malay ‘to,” the other one answered.

“UTANG NA LOOB SINABING AKO NA,” I said angrily.

They were shocked to say the least. Hindi na sila pumalag after that. They slowly gave her to me and I cradled her gently. I asked Joanne to hold my backpack then carried Sol bridal style just like what I did back on the beach in Misibis Bay. I half-ran and half-jog all the way to the emergency room while the two girls are behind. Pati ako puro dugo na but I didn’t give a damn. Nagugulat din yung mga nakakasalubong namin. Hindi ko alam kung paano pero nagawa ko nga siyang buhatin mag-isa ng ganun kalayo. I guess the adrenaline coursing through my veins helped big time. We got to the infirmary and wala masyadong patient at that time so nagkagulo sila pagkakita sa amin.
