Liam's POV

After everything that had happened earlier, I could feel the weight of the moment pressing on me. I told Elara we had something special to finish, and she didn't ask any questions, which only made me more determined to make her birthday unforgettable. I busied myself preparing the dining area, setting the table with her favorite dishes and lighting candles to create a warm, inviting atmosphere.

As I arranged everything, I heard her slowly making her way downstairs. My heart skipped a beat as I watched her navigate the steps with her hands outstretched, using them as guides. Even without her sight, she moved with a grace that left me in awe. There was something beautiful about her determination; her artificial eyes glinted with life, and I couldn't help but feel a pang of sadness knowing she'd never truly see the world around her, especially on a day like today.

The scent of her perfume wafted through the air, intoxicating and fresh. I felt an overwhelming urge to hug her, to hold her close and let her know just how much she meant to me. I couldn't help but smile as I thought about her simple beauty; it was captivating.

"Happy birthday to you..." I started to sing softly, my voice filling the room. As I sang, I watched her face transform. She was so still, and for a moment, I feared I had done something wrong. But then I noticed her eyes shimmering, reflecting emotions that twisted my heart in knots. It hurt to see her like this, to know she had never experienced a moment like this before.

I continued singing, my voice tinged with a mix of joy and sorrow. As I finished the song, I noticed tears glistening on her cheeks. Before I could even process it, she launched herself at me, wrapping her arms tightly around my waist. The suddenness of it caught me off guard, and I felt my legs almost buckle beneath her embrace. It was a whirlwind of emotions—excitement, nervousness, and a happiness that was almost overwhelming.

I gently pulled her back, wanting to see her face and dry her tears. My hands moved instinctively to her cheeks, my thumb brushing against the soft skin beneath her eyes. A breath caught in my throat as I found myself lost in her presence. There was only a few inches between us now, and I could smell her breath—sweet and inviting, intoxicating in a way that sent shivers down my spine.

In that charged moment, I felt as if the world had fallen away. My heart raced, and before I could think twice, I leaned in closer, my fingers still cradling her face. "Elara..." I whispered, my voice barely breaking the tension between us. But then I couldn't hold back any longer. I closed the gap and pressed my lips against hers.

Elara's POV

When I heard Liam start to sing, my heart swelled with an overwhelming sense of joy. It was my birthday, and for the first time, someone had taken the time and effort to celebrate me. The song resonated deep within me, filling the emptiness I often felt. I couldn't hold back the tears that began to flow; they were tears of happiness, of gratitude, and a realization of how deeply I yearned for this kind of connection.

I was so overcome with emotion that I hugged him tightly, unable to articulate what I felt. It was as if all my pent-up loneliness and despair had been washed away in that moment. I was filled with warmth and love, and I didn't want to let go.

As he tried to dry my tears, I noticed his hands wrapping around my face, and my breath hitched in my throat. The sensation of his fingers on my skin sent a wave of warmth throughout my body. My knees felt weak, and my heart raced so fast that I thought I might faint. I was acutely aware of the closeness of our bodies, the electricity in the air, and it terrified and thrilled me all at once.

Then it happened. In a moment that felt like it was both everything and nothing, his lips found mine. The world around us faded into nothingness as I melted into the kiss. It was soft yet firm, igniting something deep within me. I kissed him back instinctively, my heart racing even faster as I leaned into him, surrendering to the moment.
