Jairaj POV
"Chhote thakur, we have found chhoti thakurain's dead body. We are sending you the location. Please come and confirm it."
The words spoken in this unknown voice felt like a thunderbolt striking the very existence of mine.
I couldn't believe what was just said to me, and no voice was coming out of mouth. My face turned pale, and I felt like losing consciousness, and within a few moments, everything turned dark before my gaze.
When my eyes opened, I deciphered that my brothers, Armaan, both my bhabhis, Ammi, Ma and Arjun stood around me, all of them had tears in their eyes. Wasn't that a dream?
"Where is my baby begum?"
I asked, my gaze analysing everyone. My brothers sobbed immediately, and I realised that I uttered her nickname in front of them, that was given by me and was supposed to be used only when we were alone. I clicked my tongue at this thought, and Ma sat beside me.
Ammi had crouched on the floor, while Armaan hugged her tightly. Both of them were sobbing silently. My heart pounded inside my chest, recalling the words uttered by that stranger, which stated that my wife is.......dead.
"Jai, she is....no more!"
Balraj bhaiya muttered, his voice trembled significantly. I inhaled sharply closing my ears with my palms, and shutting down my eyes tightly. This cannot be true.
"WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU ALL SAYING?"
I bellowed at them, and instantly calmed myself down. My eyes turned teary, and I sniffled before speaking
"This cannot happen. She just walked out of the mansion...."
I paused for a moment, closed my eyes tightly and opened them again. A trail of tears drenched my cheeks.
".. and she died." I blurted out, blinking repeatedly to prevent myself from bursting into a volcano of fiery emotions - melancholy, regret and exasperation.
Dhanraj bhaiya was right when he said that I must maintain my cool even when she utters the most harsh words, because she doesn't understand things as we do. Everyone has an innate temperament, and this was hers, but who killed her, and why did he do so?
"Amjad's rival killed her."
Dhanraj bhaiya informed me, his voice was throaty too. His gaze was low, and lashes soaked in tears.
"That's what we got to know from him."
Balraj bhaiya continued, licking on his lips. He seemed to be trying his best to control his overflowing emotions, but his countenance made it evident that he was hurt deeply. He loves Ragini bhabhi and Inayat very much, and the sanctity of their bond can't be expressed in words.
"He is hurt too." He completed his statement, but no one reacted on this one. I sense something fishy in this situation.
"That's him! He killed my wife. I WON'T SPARE HIM FOR THIS."
I lost my control again. It felt like attacks of anger and melancholy, that was hitting me after every few minutes.
"Jai, you need to relax first. Her body will be here soon. You must stay strong to face that scene."
Arjun instantly embraced me, stroking my head lovingly. I still couldn't digest this news at all. It all felt like a nightmare, so I brought my head out of the hug with a jerk, and began slapping myself so that I wake up from this horrible dream.
After thrashing myself for a while, my brothers and Arjun tried to calm me down. Balraj bhaiya and Dhanraj bhaiya also rushed to me, trying to hold my hands to stop me.
