Jairaj POV

After I walked past her, I was feeling heavy at my heart but this was a needed gesture. I glanced at her going into her mother's room, so I decided to walk to my brothers when I heard a sniffing sound.

I halted to observe who that was only to find Armaan sobbing silently, hiding himself from everyone. Flickering my gaze for a few seconds, I strolled to him without making a sound, and slowly kept my palm on his shoulder.

Flinching a little, he turned around to look at me, and instantly began wiping off his tears in urgency.

"Do you need something?"

He asked in his throaty voice, as he gulped the lump down there.

"Can we stop playing formal for some time? You know how good you feel when you cry on my shoulders."

I reminded him our childhood, when he used to cry out his frustration before me so that the world doesn't find him weak. I know that he has one to share his grief right now. I have seen him attending interviews where he had tried his best to defend this marriage even when everyone was accusing him severely. I still regret the fight I gad with him that changed the course of our friendship completely.

"We.....we aren't that close now."

He sniffed in between his words.

"We are, Aru! Years of separation was also not enough to forget what bond we shared once."

'Aru' - this is the nickname that I had given to Armaan. Only I called with this name and today I intentionally used this name to remind him of our unbreakable friendship, that used to dominate our school once. People were jealous of us because we belonged to opposition parties still we were best friends. Our ideologies were entirely opposite, still we were able to love each other.

He glanced at me with tear filled gaze when I called him 'Aru', and I instantly spread my arms wide for him to hug me. A thick tear fell off his eyes when he embraced with s jerk, and started sobbing miserably. I kept patting his back lovingly.

"I can't handle it anymore. I had never expected Abbu to do this with Ammi. She is broken. My sister........she is so small for all this, and I'm.....I'm staking her for my people. I am despicable. I am the worst brother."

He quavered, sniffing in between. My eyes had also turned weepy by now. I caressed his head lovingly, embracing him tightly.

"You are not the worst brother, Aru. You are the best. You are literally scuffling with everyone for your sister, and she recognises it, I know. She loves you, and I promise you."

I muttered, and he slowly broke the hug to look at me

"I promise you that I won't trouble her in the Thakur mansion, and I will not let anyone disrespect her over there."

I mumbled, brushing off his tears with my thumbs.

"She will be safe and happy there until we get divorced."

Only I knew how heavy I was feeling at my heart while exclaiming these words, but this is true. I cannot stay with her without her will, and she won't be able to love me ever, so this would be best.

"Really? You will divorce her, right? Jai, I trust you. I knew that you cannot stoop so low to think of my baby sister like that. I hope this gets sorted as soon as possible."

He quavered, holding my palms between his. So this divorce is something that both these siblings want. I nodded, trying my best to hide the tears that had pooled up in my eyes.
