Asher hugged her arms to try to stop herself from shivering wildly.

She had been walking for hours, or so it felt.

And yet she felt in the middle of nowhere.

Just where her life was destined to end; Nowhere.

Where is the ravine? She wondered

When she stepped out of the bushes. A narrow road came to view, a man struggling to push his car in the distance.

She watched for a while, confused before deciding to take careful steps back before it was too late.

When she made to leave, the man raised his head "Help! Please!" He waved both hands her way and she knew she was damned.

"My car... It's stuck" he explained and she looked at the car, clueless.

"Sir, I don't know how to help you..." She muttered truthfully because she had no strength in her at the moment.

The man propped his hands on his waist and stared down the road ahead "I suppose you could help me push it out of this ditch," he met her eyes and she swallowed.

She had never seen a man so beautifully alluring before. She panicked.

"I'm in the middle of nowhere and there's no service, please milady, I sure need your help" he pleaded and she shifted on her feet.

One time? She thought.

"I could try, but I heavily doubt I'm strong enough" she murmured and he chuckled

"You, are much stronger than you think you are" he said and there was a thoughtful pause over which his charming eyes burned deeply into hers.

They pushed together for a good five minutes before the car tyres budged free...and she nearly fell but he caught her before she did.

"You okay?" He asked guiding her back to her feet again

She nodded, utterly embarrassed.

"Thank you so much"

"It's fine" she rubbed her hands awkwardly

"I should take you home" he offered

"Oh no no, I'm actually..." She looked over his shoulder... Her wicked thoughts creeping up her spine

"Going somewhere?" The man quizzed, a brow raised

She met his eyes "Yes" and replied sharply

"Where in this waste place could a young girl like you be wandering off to so late in the night?"

Her defences kicked in " That certainly couldn't be your concern, could it? Sir? "

He smiled and touched her arm, surprisingly warm.

"Follow me" he urged before going around her and entering his car.

Asher blinked.

What just...?

And before she knew it, she was seated in the passenger seat of his car.

"Were you lost?" He kick started the engine and they were moving.

She glanced his way "Not your business either"

He smiled.

"You always turn away kindness, it's not my intention for you, you know"
