It's now Wednesday, which means it's Jeremy's turn at trying out for dance captain! After Norah got home from school, she was right back out the door. As she sat on the bus, she wondered how Jeremy will do as dance captain.
Even though she's going against him, she prays that he does great.
Norah grinned as she stared out the window.
All of a sudden, she felt a tug on the sleeve of her jacket.
She turned her head to see a little boy sitting next to her and frowned.
'When I saw this little boy sitting next to me, it confused me. Where is his parents or guardian, and why is he beside me?'
Norah looked at him with furrowed eyebrows, "Uh, hi, can I help you?" The little boy had to be maybe around six or seven years old.
His eyes were watery causing Norah's eyebrows to soften a bit, and she glanced around to see if he belongs to anyone.
"Sweetie, what's wrong?" She turned her whole body toward him, "Where's your mommy or daddy?"
"I don't know." He cries, "They were here and now they're not. Can you please help me find them?"
Norah cooed and wiped his tears, "Sure I will, I just need to text someone real quick and then I'll help you find them."
He nodded.
Norah takes out her phone and texts Westly.
N: Hi, I'm gonna be pretty late to the studio.
W: ... Why?
N: There's someone who needs my help.
W: Okay, I'll let the others know you'll be late.
N: Thank u <3
W: 😁
After putting her phone away, she stood up.
"Are you sure, they're not on the bus?"
"No, they're gone." He frowned.
Norah blew a raspberry and looks down at him, "It will be okay- um, what is your name?" She asked, he was conflicted because one of his parent's rules were to not talk to strangers, but he broke that rule and now she's asking for his name.
The teen saw the battle he was having in his eyes.
"How about this. I'll tell you name, and you'll tell me your name." Her smile was warm and comforting. It made him feel like he could hopefully trust her.
Norah watched him give her a small nod.
"My name is Norah and what's your name?"
"My name is River," He whispered.
"Well, River? That's a cool name!" She grinned.
River smiled up at her, Norah guided them off the bus when it stopped.
"Let's get you back to your parents."

The search took a while, but it turned out that River's parents were looking for him too. Norah and River entered a small shop and found the two adults standing at the cash register, his father was on the phone with the police while his mother was busy talking to the cashier.
The thought of heading to the police station was going to be her second objection, but that thankfully it didn't have to come to that. River ran to them with tears streaming down his face and they hugged him, the three were overjoyed to finally be reunited in a short amount of time.
