The Stage Is Set

15: And The Captaincy Goes To...

It's Thursday and miss Allison called each member of the team in her office to ask who they think should be the dance captain and work alongside Veronica.

"Now's the time, who do you think should be the dance captain and work nicely alongside Veronica, the current dance captain and why?" 

Here are their answers to who should be dance captain.

Emmett: Francine.

Kelsie: Norah.

Tyler: Norah.

Veronica: I guess, Francine.

Jenny: Norah.

Zara: Jeremy.

Jeremy: Norah.

David: Francine.

Westly: Norah.

Francine: Since I can't vote myself than I'll maybe Norah.

Catelynn: It has to be either Francine or Nora, no offence to Jeremy, but I'll have to say Norah.

'I'm sorry Jeremy, but Francine and Norah are better captain options.'

Jeremy grins and shook his head, 'I take no offense.'

Samson's at home.

Norah: Francine will make a strong leader.

"Why?" Miss Allison asked.

Norah: Because she's strong, brave, honest and loves helping people.

Veronica shrugs: I think it'll be nice and easy to work with her.

Emmett: Francine is a very loyal person and is willing to help anyone who's in trouble.

Jenny: Norah has this child likeness to her, but I can tell she's also someone you can depend on.

David: I haven't really gotten to know Norah and Francine is well- she seems like the best fit for a position like this.

Westly: One Norah's super positive and two she so giddy and cheerful... wait, is that three things?

Tyler smiled: Uh, I think she's pretty cool and a fun person to hang with which I haven't done yet, but from what Westly has told me, it sounds true.

Kelsie sighs: Okay, honestly miss Allison, Veronica is having a hard time getting along with Norah, so I believe if Norah becomes co-captains with my cousin, then maybe this will help them bond over something, and Norah did a good job filling in for captain these past three days.

Jeremy: Norah did a way better job at being captain than I did.

Catelynn: Norah's an amazing dancer and she was a good leader too this week.

Zara: Everyone deserves a second chance, and he was upset about Samson.

Francine: I've observed Norah, and she can be serious depending on the situation. I saw her help Jeremy on his first day of captaincy, so even though I would love to be dance captain, I wouldn't be mad if Norah was chosen.

Veronica's now back running everyone through rehearsals, miss Allison walks in holding a clipboard.

"Can I have everyone's attention please!"

They stopped and turned to her. Allison's face gave nothing away, Veronica bit her lip which is a bad habit she grew to have when she got nervous.

"Your new captain will be..." She paused, "Norah!" Everyone cheered and hugged the curly haired girl.

Veronica didn't join in on the hug, she was shocked.

"I- I thought it was gonna be Francine." She whispered.

Miss Allison furrowed her eyebrows, "Veronica?" The woman gazed at the blonde worried.

Everyone pulled back from the hug and looked at Veronica.

'After hearing everyone's opinion, I decided on Norah, I'll like to see how she'll do.' Allison says.

Jenny went to step forward, but Norah put a hand on her shoulder.

"Let me." Jenny gave her an unsure look but let her.

'Veronica needs to think about how her words can affect others.' Catelynn shook her head, 'Norah's now her co-captain, maybe they'll find some common ground and work together as a team with the team they're supposed to be leading.'

Norah looked at the camera with a blank stare not giving any emotion away, 'I'm not upset that Veronica didn't want me as her co-captain, but it still makes my heart ache a little bit.' She glanced down at her hands.

Norah stepped closer to Veronica carefully laying a hand on her shoulder.

"I understand you might feel more comfortable with Francine and I'm new..." The sixteen trails off, Veronica stayed silent and just listened.

"But I'm willing to try and maybe we can be friends,"

Veronica looked at her feet and sighed.

"Fine."

Everyone eyes widened.

"Wha-" Norah starts.

"I said fine." She repeats not letting Norah finish.

Miss Allison smiled and walked out.

Veronica wrapped her arms around herself, 'I came to a realization that I've been treating Norah unfairly. She's done nothing wrong, she just came at the wrong time and was really nice to me and I haven't been a good sister in Christ to her.'

"Okay everybody back in your positions!" The main dance captain clapped her hands twice causing them to listen and get back into their positions.

Veronica looked to Norah who was smiling, "Norah, that means you too." 

Norah nods, "Oh, right, aye aye captain." She giggled and skipped back to her spot.

Veronica rolled her eyes, and they began to rehearse again.

Norah sat down in the chair and smiles at the camera, 'I believe this will be the start of a beautiful friendship.'
