The morning of January 19 dawned with a gentle warmth, the skies clear as if even nature was blessing the union of Sidharth Shukla and Shehnaaz Gill. The Haldi ceremony, one of the most beloved pre-wedding traditions, was set to take place on the grand lawns of the Taj Hotel, and the preparations were in full swing.

The Haldi Ceremony: A Golden Beginning

The venue had been transformed into a sunlit haven, with marigolds strung from tree to tree, their bright yellow hue mirroring the turmeric paste that would soon bless the bride and groom. Family and friends, dressed in hues of yellow and white, gathered around in eager anticipation. The atmosphere buzzed with happiness, music, and the sound of loved ones chattering as the final touches were made for the ceremony.

Shehnaaz, glowing in a yellow lehenga with intricate mirror work, was seated on a low stool, surrounded by her bridesmaids and family. Her cheeks already flushed with excitement, her belly gently rounded with the quadruplets, she smiled as everyone showered her with love. Beside her, Sidharth, dressed in a simple white kurta, sat with a wide grin, his eyes never leaving his bride.

As the Haldi paste was applied to them, the playful teasing began. Sidharth’s cricket friends—Virat Kohli, MS Dhoni, Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul, and Shikhar Dhawan—were all present, along with his childhood buddies. The men, known for their playful nature, wasted no time in pulling Sidharth’s leg.

“Arre, Sid!” Virat called out, smearing a dollop of turmeric on Sidharth’s cheek. “This is just the beginning. You’ve got four little troublemakers coming your way soon. How will you survive?”

MS Dhoni, laughing, added, “We’ll see how this ‘Captain Cool’ handles the real pressure.”

Sidharth, grinning widely, shot back, “I’ve handled you guys on the field. Four little ones? Piece of cake.”

Shikhar, who couldn’t resist poking fun, nudged Shehnaaz. “Sana, better get ready. Sid will need as much help as he can get!”

Shehnaaz, giggling, replied, “Oh, I already know! I’ve been preparing him. He thinks he’s ready, but let’s see when the babies arrive!”

The laughter around them was infectious, the entire atmosphere filled with joy. Anyra, the little firecracker of the family, had smeared haldi on both Sidharth and Shehnaaz's noses, giggling as she declared, “Now you both look like a matching pair of cute tigers!”

But amidst the celebrations, Shehnaaz began to feel light-headed. She had been feeling a bit tired all morning, but the excitement of the day had kept her going. Now, as the ceremony progressed, her head spun slightly, and she placed a hand on her belly, feeling a little breathless.

Sidharth noticed immediately. “Misti Doi, are you okay?” he whispered, concern evident in his voice.

Shehnaaz smiled weakly. “Just feeling a bit dizzy, Sid. Maybe I need to sit down for a while.”

Her sudden drop in blood pressure startled everyone, and within moments, the family doctor was called in. Rita Shukla and Pammi Gill rushed to her side, their faces filled with worry, but the doctor reassured them it was just a temporary fluctuation, likely due to stress and excitement. “She needs rest and lots of hydration,” the doctor advised. “Make sure she takes it easy.”
