Chapter Thirty Eight: A Sudden Ending

Anubis rejuvenated Shu with everything he had left of his magic. The Aura surrounded the younger god, granting him back powers he never had before, powers that would allow them to avenge Ra. Anubis became like a skeletal husk in this moment, his light all gone,

"Kid. This is your last duty, go and put an end to this. Save humanity, even if it takes your dying breath." He gasped, collapsing to his knees as Shu sobbed his anguish,

"Please!" He cried out desperately, clinging to his closest friend, "Just stay! We can fight them together!"

"No kid... I know you're not going to finish it if we both do it..."

Shu knew that Anubis was right, but that didn't reduce the pain, the knowledge that the only way to save these people was to lose everything he knew and loved...

He took off in a fit of blinding rage, moving faster than he ever had before. With more strength and speed than he had ever possessed before.

Crimson's blades flashed as they slashed through the air, cutting at the remaining three. Zachary took one to the shoulder, but the blade pulsed, becoming serrated as it was embedded. Then it spun like a chainsaw, aiming to rip Zachary's head from his own shoulders. He countered with his own shift, making his body as strong as diamond, but yet the blade cut through. Wraith blocked the blade with one of its own, jamming the saw and holding it in place as Zachary grabbed Crimson by the throat, blasting him with electric energy,

"I... can't... fight it..."

Crimson pushed himself backwards, bleeding profusely from the impacts. He groaned with anger and pain, before slicing himself in the throat with a bloody blade. It stared to rip through space and time itself, bleeding bright light through the hole in his chest.

"I'm fleeing so he doesn't kill you!" Crimson roared, pulling himself through the portal, throwing himself back into another dimension.

Just as he went, Spirit's eyes opened wide as she barely had time to raise a shield, the force of Shu's attack forcing her flying through the air. Shu turned with double his previous speed, tears of pure fire bleeding from his eyes as he landed a barrage on Zachary, leaving him a bloody mess. Wraith's scythe glimmered as it pierced his back, but he turned anyway, snapping the brittle shadows as a furious kick broke every rib of his foe, sending it flying into Spirit,

"You're the reason they're dead!" He screamed, throwing a gargantuan ball of Aura,

Zachary regenerated fast enough to blast it, trying to slow the thing, but it was overcome with green Aura, Anubis' will living on, and his own energy was added to the ball. He transformed into his draconic form, dashing and collecting the other two as he forced them out of the way of the blast. 

The entire world shook as half of the continent was erased from existence, the ground melting and dissolving from the sheer energy Shu was producing,

"What the fuck!?" Wraith shook with adrenaline as they stopped, "This guy really wants us dead now..."

"Adam's dead..." Spirit spoke aloud again, "We don't have a hope with just the three of us now."

Suddenly, Zachary's front exploded, Shu's fist running right through his chest,

"You... you ungrateful, VILE FUCKS!" Shu roared, ripping Zachary in half, "You killed Ra! You're the reason Anubis is gone! You've taken EVERYTHING from me!"

He fired off blast after blast, the trio barely being able to avoid them, the entire world shaking with each impact. Spirit froze time again, her will over it shaking like the planet itself. She didn't want this anymore, all the fighting, all the hatred, she just wanted peace. But their friends were dying from these constant conflicts, the consequences of their actions leading them all to the end of their lives. She formed a spear from the earth below, flying up to Shu and aiming accurately, the sharp end piercing his heart. When time began to flow again, he shook there for a moment, his chest split open and bleeding,
