Mizuki was shaking while holding the gifts with a confused frown. Her knees weakened and she fell to the ground. They started looking through the gifts while her soft tears turned into violent sobs and they almost turned into screams. Begonias, symbols of mutual understanding and love. The beautiful bow and the gorgeous doodle Ena made, all made her heart sink even lower. She wouldn't hide any longer. The wind was blowing and yet again it hit her face. Mizuki had to find Ena and tell her the truth. She wouldn't hide any longer. She put the gifts inside her bag.
-ENA! - Mizuki stood up and the wind-breaking scream came out of her tightened with guilt mouth. She started running to her direction, while the tears in her eyes were dropping on the ground. Her pink hair was ruffling in the air. The atmosphere was becoming heavier and heavier, it became hard to breathe. The card, the wind, the people nearby - everything felt so overwhelming and loud. Mizuki will find Ena and tell her about everything. She wouldn't hide her true feelings any more. Nothing mattered anymore. Just the truth and what she will say to Ena. Even if she doesn't understand, even if she hates her...Mizuki wouldn't stand Ena looking at her in the same painful way. The painful memories were shifting in her mind like a movie. Nothing felt truly real, because only one thing was important - Ena. Their first meeting, ah, I felt as if it was yesterday. Just like this pure-hearted angel helped Mizuki, she would help her too. She wouldn't hide anything from her anymore. But it was too late. No matter how much she wished she could change the past, it was all gone now. You reap what you sow.
Ena fell to the ground. She was a few metres next to the building where their flat was, but hid from the entrance so if Kanade and Mafuyu are leaving they won't see her. She sat on the ground, hiding her ruddy face in between her knees and legs. She wasn't sure whether to believe their words. It felt as if she was lying and escaping the confrontation of telling her she doesn't like her back. No, no, Mizuki wouldn't do such a thing...she wouldn't lie about something like this, right. Right? The brunette's air was cutting short and she began to cough. She felt so weak that it was hard to sit up and had to lie down. She heard one of Mizuki's screams, but she didn't answer it. Ena didn't have any strength left to even stand up and talk. Her makeup was dipping on the ground too. The munted black mascara was dipping on her clothes too. It took her so much to prepare for this day and it's all for waste. The memories were too many, too depressing. Ena's miserable self was lying on the ground, on dirt.
Mizuki was running and running, screaming Ena's name from the top of her lungs. She was desperate to find Ena. They wouldn't stop looking, even if the sun set. The pink-haired girl saw the building and her footsteps became more demanding, faster. She started looking and looking, and looking until she find a silhouette. A painful sigh of relief came out of her mouth.
-Ena...?- Mizuki asked weakly.
Ena, struggling, sat up and looked into the eyes of the pink-haired girl.
-Ena...I truly love you. I love you more than anything else. I'm sorry for not telling you...I'm sorry for not confiding in you. But...I won't run away anymore. I'm ready to tell you. - A few sobs came out of Mizuki. - I know you're kind. You're an incredible person. But sometimes I cannot help but feel this way again. I...am not the person who you think I am. I was born a boy but never felt like one. That's why I was able to be a knight. Because I was never...a girl in the first place. - Mizuki cried while Ena's face softened. She went to Mizuki, while her makeup was still running down her face. - It's stupid of me to think you won't accept me. I'm sorry...I'm sorry for not telling you earlier.
Ena stood in silence. Her gaze softened and her sobs stopped. The wind stopped blowing. The sun started setting down. Mizuki felt so suffocated, she couldn't help but start ugly crying in front of Ena. This side of hers, always made her weak. Ena didn't know what to say. But she still loved her after all of this. The pink-haired girl didn't run away for she promised she wouldn't run anymore.
-Is that all...Mizuki, you're such a dummy for thinking I won't accept you...-Ena smiled softly suddenly at Mizuki. Mizuki was startled. - You're a beautiful girl, Mizuki. Don't ever say that again. - She caressed Mizuki's face and both of them blushed, while smiling. - So now, may I ask you again...could I be your girlfriend?
Mizuki's eyes were once again shining. It was as if Ena freed her from this suffocating atmosphere. Mizuki nodded and leaned down to kiss Ena's lips. They were so warm. Never has Mizuki felt this kind of love before. So pure, so romantic, yet passionate and unique. The world didn't matter anymore. Their dirty clothes didn't matter. Only this kiss, shared after all of this suffering, mattered.
-Haha...even with this ugly makeup, you're the most beautiful person I know. - Mizuki giggled, while holding her to get up.
-EHH, SHUT UP! - Ena blushed even harder and tried hiding her face.
They both laughed while going to the flat. Love is beautiful, isn't it? Trusting and loving somebody...is truly beyond beautiful.
