"Huh?" Advait broke into his thoughts, looking at the door.
"Alright, You go and talk to her, we'll call you once we reach there." His mom said. She put her hand on Shivani mom's shoulders to lead her ahead and winked at Advait while making a thumbs up gesture. "All the best!" She whispered.
"Eee mom!???" He stood there in confusion. He was staring at her door and finally shook away his thoughts with "Fine, it's high time. It is a sign from god, and I don't know anything else. Let's do it" he stepped ahead.
He stood at her door, his hand hovering over the door handle. This was it—the moment of no return. If he opened it, everything could change. A new chapter might begin, unfolding into possibilities he couldn't predict. Whatever lay ahead between them—friendship, love, or something altogether unexpected—could start right here, in this second. The Universe would shape the future of their fates toward either joy or despair, all depending on his choice, on the weight of his hand pressing down. All the questions that he had in his mind stuck for so long might get answers. This contact, so small yet so charged, was everything. It was crucial. He could hear loud thuds caused by his heart and could feel his upper stomach clench, his nerves kept reacting to his heart and his breath felt uncontrollable.
He took a sharp breath by closing his eyes, and finally he was successful in changing fate. He decided.... It was his choice. He opened the door.
He did it.
He slowly opened the door, and chose to open his eyes as he peeped into her room. He looked at her being seated on the left side of the door... on a chair, he could hear the fast tapping sound of her finger coming from her Laptop's keyboard as she was typing something which filled the silence in the room. It was just the sound of the laptop's keyboard and his echoing heartbeat.
The typing sound stopped.
Shivani immediately closed the window which she had opened on her laptop, and drifted her eyes towards the room door. Her eyes fixated on Advait's. His nervous eyes.
Her pupils expanded slightly, reacting to his sudden move. The most awaited moment had finally come, for both of them."Hi..." Advait said with a smile. Nervousness was the only thing broadly written on his face. But his smile gave assurance that he was proud of the move he made.
"Hi!! Come in...!" Shivani spoke, her eyes still stuck in awe.
He stepped into the room slowly. He felt comfortable in no time, for no reason. It felt as if the atmosphere was waiting for his arrival and as if they were in touch for many years.
Shivani was still seated on her chair. Advait and Shivani looked at each other awkwardly, for a good 30 seconds. They bursted out of laughter, about how everything had happened. It wasn't spoken but was felt by both of them. They knew what they were thinking and how fascinated things turned out.
"Please come sit." She pointed towards her single bed which was right next to one of her room's windows. Advait made his way to the bed and sat. He noticed how everything in the room was artistic, filled with drawings, Anime characters posters on the wall, Plastic money plants hanging here and there, Her favourite moments with friends captured in polaroids hanging on the threads... He took his dear time to observe and admire everything in the room. "Cute room" He expressed aloud with a gentle smile. He turned back to look outside the window which was right behind him. "Ohh... tree!!" He exclaimed. The tree was right next to Shivani's house and it appeared really close near her window, making all its branches visible. Greenery was covered. The weather was cloudy. The light was not harsh in the room as the other side windows were closed with curtains.Slow cold breeze filled the room, making the windchime hung near the window create sounds. Just as before, when Advait had stepped into the room for the first time. Everything welcomed him. He felt at ease this time.
Shivani was looking at him, who had closed his eyes to embrace the feeling in the room. He slowly opened his eyes only to realise that Shivani had her eyes fixated on him.
