The chilly breeze hits the sensitive skin along your neck, creating goosebumps that send a shiver down your spine. Adrenaline surged through your system as the thought of having a new beginning in a whole new world filled your ambitious mind. Home was great because there was family and safety in numbers, but now it was only you and a friend who was going to help you for the next year in South Korea.

With a heavy black luggage and passport in hand, you search for a familiar face in the crowd of people. Suzy, a close friend of yours, had promised to guide you through all your struggles in Korea, but she seemed nowhere to be found.

Occupied with the task of finding waldo, you hadn't realized a shadow casting before you. Some jumps from behind and scares you as they tightly hug you from behind. In surprise, you turn to see Suzy's bright face bursting out in joy. It had been almost three years, but she was the same joyful friend that you've always remembered.

"You're still enjoying scaring people, aren't you?" you burst out in laughter as you give Suzy a hug in return, a smile playing on your lips.

"I haven't changed much since we've talked, but look at you, you've changed so much! Look at your long hair and American style. Korea will change you, trust me." Suzy states.

Together y'all catch a taxi and arrive at a large area with apartments scattered here and there. The building you arrive at was elegantly standing out from the others as it was made of pink granite. Stepping out of the taxi with your luggage, you haul your stuff up to your apartment, where Suzy diligently decorated it to your taste of a white leather sofa, glistening marble kitchen, and cute matte colored walls.

"Aaahhh," you let out a sigh of relief as you plopped right on the sofa, "I think I love Korea already!"

"You better, 'cause you're stuck here for a year and it's gonna suck if you despise this place," you laugh in unison as you unpack your belongings to place into its compartment.

That afternoon, Suzy suggested for you to go out to a small casual cafe for a bit of fresh air near by your apartment. The coffee's aroma filled the small shop, being very familiar with things in America.

Directly in front of the cafe was a big building where a few young girls around the age of 17 had been standing idly in front of.

"What are those girls doing there?" You slowly take a sip of you hot latte.

"It's Bighit Entertainment. Those girls are always waiting there everyday in hopes of catching the attention of their idols. Those girls are just wasting their time." Shaking her head Suzy continues,

"Kids these days don't know what to do with their lives anymore."

"What's so good about those idols anyways? It's not like their saving lives. The hospitals should have fans standing at the entrance. They don't know their priorities yet."

"Woah, don't get so cocky about your job (Y/N). Speaking of job, you better rest up for you big day tomorrow since it's going to be your first day on your internship at the University right?" Suzy asks out of curiosity as she tilts her head to one side.

"Yeah I am, but I'm also gonna have to stop by the hospital for training as well. I'm a bit nervous because my Korean isn't all that natural and people might not understand me."

"Oh, stop! Your Korean is very good and you might not sound like a native, but that's okay. Don't stress yourself out!"

"Thanks, Suzy." You let out a sigh of relief at Suzy's reassurance.

Once the coffee cups had been emptied, you and Suzy headed back home for the night. Before bed, Suzy cooked a warming dinner and prepared your breakfast before she quickly headed home.
