He grabs you by the arm and drags you away from the group of interns. Out of astonishment, you silently follow with no struggle to be eventually freed from his grasp.
"It's getting a little boring listening to professor talk, huh?" You couldn't help but to chuckle at Jimin's sudden actions. He continued to lead the way out of the forest as though he had memorized the path through the maze of trees.
"I wanna show you a place that spent a lot of time during my teen years. I'm sure it's different from the ones you go to in America." Jimin begins mumbling about some other stuff, but you couldn't exactly make out what he was saying.
After a long fifteen minute trudge through the dense forest of Busan, a building of glass sprouted from ahead. It was mainly made out of windows that seemed to a bit tented to prevent the outside from seeing the interior.
With prideful arms that welcomed your appearance, Jimin smiled from ear to ear as you both arrive.
"Here is my high school! The place where I wasted so much time contemplating whether I was going down the right path, but it's all worth it now. This place is kind of like a sacred place to me if you know what I mean."
You giggle at his delight at seeing his lovely high school: Busan School of Arts.
"So this is why we walked for over fifteen minutes through that mucky forest. This place is sacred to me too you know?"
"This is the first time you've seen it. How did you name it sacred after just seeing it for one minute?" Jimin raises an eyebrow at your claim.
"This is where you decided to become an idol and thanks to you being an idol, you put yourself at such high risks with those sasaengs. That's when I come in to save the day. That's how we met remember? Thanks to this place, our destiny began."
A bit of embarrassment flushed upon your cheeks.
Jimin grabs your wrist once again and guides you to the entrance of his school.
"I don't want us to get caught out, so I'll carefully take you to my old practice room."
Jimin's seriousness intrigued you. Silently you followed with quick steps right behind him towards his old practice room.
The interior had low sunken ceilings that were not common in America. Every once in a while, a student would walk past the room with a similar uniform on.
You felt a little out of place at that moment because all these memories of high school that Jimin might have felt was something that you would never be able to have. There was no shared experiences that ya'll might had during high school because the education system in America and Korea was just two different worlds.
Many say that more similarities between you and your love, the easier they'll bond. The less they have in common the less they'll talk and the less they'll attract. It seemed that as time went on, the less you had in common with him.
He was an idol, you were a doctor. He is a Busan boy, you were an Asian-American girl. His high school had Korean traditions while you were accustomed to the American education system. Your life surrounded by heaps upon heaps of medical terminology books. Happiness was defined as beating that kid that was #1 in your class so that you could sit in their seat of pride. South Korea was a studying abroad destination, but to Jimin, it was his sweet home.
Everything was different and even if time were to turn back, nothing would change.
---------------
Scanning around the room, you spotted the sight of framed pictures of Jimin as student with his cheeky smile. Immediately, you walk over to further examine the picture.
His tiny self with chubby cheeks and baby fat caused you to grin widely.
"This kid probably grew up to be a great successful young man I bet."
You turn around to meet eyes with Jimin but instead was greeted with his yearning beam.
"That kid probably grew up and met the most talented and intelligent woman ever."
He leans in closer, just enough so that your noses barely rubbed against one another.
"He must of been one lucky kid."
Time stopped and everything seemed right. He was there and you were his. That was all that mattered for that split second.
He lightly placed a soft kiss on your forehead as the warm sun shone through the glass windows.
