The group of tourists were all sitting in the airport, waiting for their flight back to New York. Everyone was ready to go home and away from the chaos of Europe that had just unfolded around them. On a small bench, Kate was sitting down scrolling through her phone. She had a small bump on the back of her head and cuts along her body.

The raven haired girl was lost in thought texting her mom when a familiar face walked over to her. Y/N offered a humble smile. Most of his scars and cuts had already healed, but Kate was still able to spot a few bruises along the side of his cheek. She also noticed how he had a slight limp when he walked.

Y/N: Hey.

Kate: Hey.

Y/N: You doing alright?

Kate: Yeah, I'm fine. I heard you had to go help your aunt.

Y/N: Oh, uh, yeah. I was just coming back into the city when it was attacked. All those scary drones and whatnot. Guess we're lucky the Night Monkey was there.

Kate: Yeah. Lucky for the Night Monkey.

She bit her lip a bit as she spoke. Y/N looked over at her arm. He noticed her shirt sleeve had been cut, most likely from a shard of glass or a stray bullet. A little gash was on her elbow. Y/N indicated towards it.

Y/N: Here, let me help.

Kate: Oh, that? It's fine. I've gotten plenty of cuts before.

Y/N: I know, super star athlete.

He winked at her playfully. Kate blushed a little at his interaction. Y/N pulled out a small bandage and ointment and started cleaning the cut.

Y/N: A little help never harmed anyone, though. I heard what you did for my family. How you helped protect them. Thank you.

Kate: No problem. Any time.

Y/N finished up patching up her cut. Kate looked at her arm and exhaled. She then turned to Y/N and looked into his (e/c) eyes.

Kate: You know, I kinda had fun on this trip.

Y/N: Yeah... I think I did as well. What was your favorite part?

Kate: I mean, the monsters were cool and everything, but I liked hanging out with you and your folks. It was nice.

Y/N: Yeah. It really was. I'm glad you joined us.

Kate: Maybe we'll have to do it again sometime. I mean, without the running and fear of death.

Y/N: Yeah. That's sounds like fun.

The two stared at one another, both presenting awkward smiles. After a moment of silence, Y/N waved and walked off.

Y/N: Well, I guess I'll see you on the plane.

Kate: I'll save you a seat.

Y/N smiled at her and turned to walk away. As he left, Kate eyed him. She went back to thinking, this time about the man she just talked with. Y/N walked back over to his family. They were all grabbing what little of their things remained. They were watching a television broadcasting the global news. It was talking about how Mysterio was a fraud and how the new Night Monkey hero had saved London from an army of killer drones. The trio turned to Y/N as he approached them.

Grant: I guess it's back home, then.

Y/N: Well, before that, there's actually something I need to do first.

Y/N: Here. I think these are safer in your guys' hands anyway.
