He began to tear up.

Shinji: No, it's that- YOU'RE THE FIRST PERSON TO EVER SAY THAT TO ME! WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!
You hugged him.

Misato sighed.
Misato: You know, there is a big reason why I took you in. Pen Pen, he was going to be euthanized.
(Y/N) and Shinji: HUH?!
Misato: Before he stayed with me, he was a lab animal to be experimented on.
(Y/N): Were they going to put him down?
Misato: Yes. That's when I took him in. It usually gets lonely when you live by yourself. But, those feelings of people just around you to wake up to, and to eat with. It's ... nice.
Shinji: (smiling) I guess so.

As you all were leaving, Kensouke and Toji showed up.
Shinji: Oh, you guys. Why are you here?
Toji: Well ... uh ... DON'T TRY TO WHIEN YOUR WAY OUT OF THIS IKARI! I want you to hit me on!
Shiji: What?
Toji: I don't know jack about you, but I laid you flat, a guy who save dmy life, and I don't like owing people. So come on, belt me one!
Kensuke: All you have to do is say sorry for pete's sake. Geez.
Shinji: Uh ... No thanks.

You then noticed that Rei appeared.
