Sienna Elosie Hopkins always wanted to be a doctor, she loved to help people and look after them, when the world as she knew it ended she was an intern and a single mother to a 9 year old daughter, Aubrey Faith Hopkins, her daughter was her pride and joy, she would die for her daughter, anything to keep her safe. Although the young woman was a teen mom she had the help of her parents who always had her back.
Sienna was happy, she had her Mom and her daughter all under one roof, she graduated high school early even with being a single mom but she was smart, you could say she was a genius but that only meant she got to graduate med school by the time she was 21 and began as an intern a few weeks after she turned 22, she was living the dream. Sienna also had a few friends, Lara was her best friend, the two always had each others back even when they argue they always sort things out. Yes she had lost her father but she was fine as long as she had her Mom, Daughter and her best friend.
The day the she heard the news that the dead were coming back and eating the living. Sienna phoned her mother to tell her to pack and get Aubrey to pack too and she would be home to pack herself a bag too and they would be heading to Atlanta; she didn't know then that they wouldn't make it there. she had to do what it takes to protect her mom and daughter. Her mom had packed everything she thought would be necessary and had it by the front door- Sleeping bags, food, water- the whole lot , the tent was already in the car, or on-top of the car in the roof box. the older Hopkins woman didn't know what they would need, nobody did but Sienna being a doctor she knew she would need medical supplies especially with how Aubrey can be, she has a whole cupboard in the house with bandages, painkillers, things to do stitches with. Everything you can think of she has but she has it locked and the key to the lock is in her car, it's at the hospital with her.
The woman got to her house in record time, her mom greeted her at the door and said she'd load the trunk of the car while she packed herself. First thing she did was pack the medical supplies into a spare duffel, she unloaded the whole thing into the bag before packing her clothes into her old camping bag, she hadn't been in years but the bag, it was still sturdy. She stuffed the bag with clothes and then grabbed one final bag, she packed her photo album of Aubrey's life, it had pictures of her own father too who they had lost 4 months prior, she added some books and entertainment for Aubrey and the book series she brought for herself but never started reading, she thought that maybe she'd get some reading done now it's the apocalypse.
Sienna took a moment and sat on her bed to get her thoughts together when Aubrey ran into the room.
"Mama what's happening" Aubrey asked scared, she didn't know why her mom wanted her and her grandmother to pack quickly.
"We are going somewhere safe, you, me and nana" Sienna said softly to her daughter who frowned.
"Can I bring Bun Bun?" Aubrey asked making Sienna smile
"You can bring whatever you want, Bree but make sure you have it soon, we have to get on the road soon" Sienna said to her daughter. Aubrey ran out of her mothers room and into her own, she'd already packed what her grandmother said but she wasn't leaving her prized possessions behind- her Bunny stuffed animal, blanket she's had since birth and the pillow made from her grandfathers old clothes. Sienna unlocked the safe in her room, she grabbed her dad's gun and box of Ammo and her dad's switch blade, burying it in the bottom of her bag.
Her mother doesn't even know about her dad's gun but Sienna thought it was best to keep it that way for now. One final thought came to Sienna's mind, Aubrey's education, it may be the end of the world but Sienna wanted to keep her daughters education going which helped because she kept all the books her parents brought her as a child- maths, science, English even languages. All the books she'd use to keep her daughter's education going, she shoved them into the bag with her books and sighed, she had no idea if they would need anything else but they couldn't wait any longer.
"Sie' don't you think we should take some pillows you know, for sleeping in the tent?" Sienna's Mom, Betty asked. She hasn't even thought of that but her mom was right so she quickly agreed and they finished loading the trunk of the car. The tent, sleeping bags and most of the clothes bags were in the roof box, something that was always on the top of Sienna's car, her dad kept all the camping supplies in their and said it's the best place to keep the box.
"We've got a lot, food, water, sleeping bags, tent, clothes, entertainment and memories. Is this enough?" Sienna asked her mom, neither knew but they had to leave.
The traffic leaving the small town was bad, The Hopkins family were stuck outside a convenience store for ages, Betty even headed into the store to grab more supplies, Sienna didn't know why, did her mom know something she didn't, her mom came out with batteries, loads of batteries, torches, more canned food, more drinks as well as candy, her mom always stocked up on candy for Aubrey. She wasn't sure what else her mom shoved into the trunk of the car but she was sure she'd find out later one; whenever that'll be. Sienna knew her mom liked to be prepared for anything so she guessed that's why her mom was glad they were outside the convenience store
The family of three got onto the highway where they were stuck for ages too, Betty and Sienna got out the car followed by Aubrey who soon became friends with two kids, Carl Grimes and Sophia Peletier, Aubrey had always been a shy girl, she didn't have many friends so Sienna was happy to see her daughter making friends even with them older than she was but that didn't matter, Aubrey had friends even if it was for the time being.
little did Sienna know these people she met on the high way would soon become her Family
