Part twelve: you always wind up here

I walked to the door but I didn't know if I should open it..... it was 12 at night. Who the hell is knocking on my door this late. But I opened it anyway and Jake was there.

"Hi."

"What the hell are you doing here Jake."

"I came to explain."

"What?"

"Hey you promised you would talk to me in person so here I am."

"Aren't you on a mission right now?"

"They didn't need me anymore, they let me leave early. I'm still on the mission but I get to work from the base here."

"I-"

"Please just let me explain myself."

I let him in and he sat at the dinning table across from me.

"Ok, I swear to you, I was going tell you about what happened, but I was so drunk I didn't know what happened until someone showed me a video of it happening right before you called me the second time."

"Why didn't you say that when I called?"

"Because I was freaking out, I said it in my texts to you, my voice mails, my fucking emails. I EMAILED you. I even dm'ed you. Beth I tried to tell you I really did. i'm so sorry. And one more thing, Vanessa is angelicas friend. She sent her to try and get me to sleep with her so you would break up with me... how they knew about you, I don't know."

"Jake....."

"Beth please. I need you to forgive me, I swear to you I would never do anything to purposefully hurt you. I am telling the truth. I miss you so so so much. I hated every second that we were apart. Please Beth, let me back into your life. I will do anything to be with you again."

"This is a lot to take in..." I said

He nodded.

"But, I can't lie you're all I think about. I wish I would've let you explain. I am still mad but... I'll give you a second chance-"

Not even a second after I finished talking he jumped out of his seat and kissed me. I wrapped my arms around his neck, and then to the back of his head to play with his hair.

I missed him, the way he smells, his soft hair, his green eyes, his voice, the way he wraps his arms around my waste. Everything. I don't know but I think I might be in love with him despite the whole breaking up thing.
