The Crazy Con

The time on the clock flashed 05:00 a.m. They'd only just finished filming an hour ago. Y/N had showered first and was now curled up in bed, trying to unwind. She was exhausted from a long night of filming, but she was also feeling anxious about attending her first fan convention later in the day. Joe was currently having his shower, the sound of the water not relaxing Y/N enough to fall asleep.

'You're still awake!' Joe said as he wandered into the bedroom, still drying himself off.

'I'm stressing about this convention - I've never been to one.'

'Babe, you have nothing to worry about, people are going to love you!'

'Easy for you to say - you're one of, if not - THE most popular character on the show!'

'Try not to think about it, or you'll never sleep! I'll be there too, remember - it'll be fine.' Joe said as he climbed into bed, arm open for Y/N to cuddle into. Both were finally able to let sleep overtake them.

Both phones started screaming alarms at 1pm, scaring the couple awake. After a hearty meal - it could be a long time before they are again - they headed down to the car and off to the convention. The butterflies in Y/N's stomach were building, Joe noticed and squeezed her hand, calming her down slightly.

Once inside the venue, Y/N's nerves increased again, there were so many people - even some dressed like her character - she wasn't expecting that! It was also now that she and Joe were separated, each taken to their tables for the autograph sessions.

'Oh my god, you're so beautiful!'

'I love your character so much!'

'Could you sign this for me?'

'Could you make it out to..........'

Y/N was getting so into meeting the fans that her anxiety quickly faded. Joe would often glance over at her, and seeing her smiling and talking to her fans made his heart swell.

Next came the photos. Y/N was surprised to see a long line of people waiting to have a photo taken with her. Many were the same people who'd gotten her autograph. There were even photos taken with her and Joe together, both happy to do whatever pose the fans wanted them to do. Gaten even joined Joe and her for photos, given that Y/N played Dustin's sister on the show.

'How're you finding it?' Joe asked during a lull in proceedings - the first time they'd been able to talk to each other.

'I'm having so much fun!' Y/N said, a huge smile spreading across her face.

'Told you!' Joe said, smirking and squeezing her hand. Then, along with Priah and Maya, they were directed to a stage for a Q&A panel.

Fans lined up to ask questions to the cast, some directed at Y/N and Joe -

'Which came first - your real-life relationship or your onscreen one?

'What were your favourite scenes together?'

Cara Buono - who played Karen Wheeler on the show - was the one running the Q&A and also asked some random questions as well as the crowd - her's coming from her phone and asked 'This or That' questions.

A lot of Joe's responses or stories had the crowd laughing, he was so enigmatic. Y/N had no trouble understanding why he was so popular with the crowd, and he was all hers. Pretty soon, it was time to wrap up the panel and head off the stage. The end of the panel signalled the end of Y/N's day, she was done - except she didn't want to go.
