NO ONE'S POV

"Ready ka na, Ate Aiah?" Maloi asked, nudging Aiah, who seemed lost in thought.

The latter just nodded and began boarding the plane along with the others.

"Magkatabi ata kayo ni Mikha sa seats, hindi ka pa rin ba masyadong kinakausap?" Sheena asked, glancing at Mikha, who was seriously talking with Colet.

Aiah sighed and shook her head.

Since Mikha had driven her home on Friday, she'd been giving her the cold shoulder.

Saturday morning, Aiah invited her to have breakfast together, but Mikha declined, saying she'd already ordered her food-kaya nag taka si Aiah pero hinayaan n'ya na lang muna dahil baka gusto nitong mapagisa.

By dinner, she tried inviting Mikha again, but the latter turned her down once more.

Aiah began to suspect that something was up, thinking maybe Mikha was just sulking over the situation with Fons.

But she noticed Mikha's demeanor had changed-she seemed unusually serious.

She even tried again this morning, but Mikha barely said anything to her, only mentioning she'd already eaten.

It was now Sunday, and they were on their way to Cebu.

Aiah had asked Sheena to pick her up earlier, sensing that Mikha was really not in the mood, so she didn't push her luck by trying to share a ride to the airport.

As they boarded the plane and found their seats, Aiah made her way down the aisle and spotted Mikha already seated habang seryossong nakatingin sa labas ng bintana.

She hesitated for a second, wondering if she should say anything or uupo na lang sa tabi nito.

She took a breath at pinakalma ang sarili and then settled down beside Mikha.

Parehas silang tahimik at walang umiimik.

Aiah glanced sideways, watching Mikha's face for any sign kung good mood ba ito or gusto s'yang kausapin pero wala.

Mikha didn't even turn, eyes still fixed outside na sobrang malalim ng iniisip.

Sheena, who was seated nearby, gave Aiah an encouraging look, mouthing, "Kaya mo 'yan." before looking away to give them a bit of privacy.

Aiah mustered up her courage and softly cleared her throat. "Hey, okay ka lang ba?" she asked calmly hoping for even the smallest response from Mikha.

Mikha finally turned to face her pero her expression was still guarded at walang ganang tumingin kay Aiah.

"Yeah, I'm fine." she replied briefly, then shifted her attention back to the window at sinuot ang headphone n'ya ending the conversation as quickly as it started.

Her shoulders dropping slightly she felt a pang of disappointment dahil hindi n'ya alam kung bakit ganito ang mood ni Mikha.

The silence between is suffocating, it felt heavy.

Napabuntong hininga na lang s'ya bago sumandal sa upuan at pumikit.

The plane took.

Aiah eventually drifted off to sleep beside Mikha dahil sa kakaisip kung pa'no kakausapin si Mikha ng matino.

Her head leaned slightly to the left side.

Mikha glanced over, noticing the peaceful expression on Aiah's face—at medyo nahihirapan sa pwesto n'ya.

Mikha's frustration softened.

She remembered all the times she spent with Aiah, naalala n'ya how Aiah always seemed to understand her without words.
