On a field I asked a daffodil
"Can't you make a better deal?"
Lists of plans that didn't work
Guess we weren't ideal, or a big deal
Just another oxycodone, but I'm not alone.

It's all you, can't you see it's true?
You shattered a piece and threw it off the blue
Leaving us with blood and a piece of cloth
What do you expect—hugs and kisses?

Moving on is not my thing
Forgetting is all you think
When you thought that it was all easy
My head's on my knees, you were lacy
And, I frowned when they muttered softly—"Is he crazy?"

You're a queen, you're a goddess
Why would they listen to someone with empty pockets?
You're so sweet, and modest
Why would someone like us hate you anyway?

Sweet daffodil, burnt down the hill
There goes the rope, swinging as it broke
What did you say? "Finally, we're good."
Maybe you forgot to see if we could.
