As the morning light seeped into the room, Taehyung slowly blinked his eyes open, taking in his surroundings. The events of the previous night came flooding back, but his heart softened as he felt the gentle weight nestled against him. Jungkook lay asleep in his arms, his face peaceful and free from the pain and fear that had plagued him before. Taehyung let out a sigh of relief, glad to see Jungkook finally at rest.

He tightened his hold slightly, brushing a gentle hand through Jungkook's hair, hoping the touch would comfort him even in sleep. He whispered softly, almost to himself, “You’re safe now, Kook. I’m here.”

Jungkook stirred a little, his eyelashes fluttering as he slowly woke up, his eyes meeting Taehyung’s. For a moment, he seemed dazed, but as recognition dawned, a small, sleepy smile appeared on his face. "Hyung… you stayed,” he murmured, his voice soft and filled with warmth.

Taehyung smiled back, brushing his hand gently against Jungkook’s cheek. “Of course I did. I’ll always stay, no matter what.”

Jungkook looked down, his fingers instinctively clutching onto Taehyung’s shirt. “Thank you, Taehyung. For… everything. I don’t know what I would’ve done without you.”

Taehyung shook his head. "You don’t need to thank me, Jungkook. You mean too much to me. I’ll always be by your side.”

They stayed in that embrace for a while longer, wrapped in each other’s warmth.

Jungkook let out a deep sigh, closing his eyes as he rested his head against Taehyung's chest. After a moment of silence, he whispered, "I was so scared, Taehyung… I didn't know if anyone would come." His voice trembled, the vulnerability in his tone making Taehyung's heart ache.

Taehyung held him tighter, his voice soft yet firm. "I'm here now, Kook, and I won’t let anyone hurt you again. Not while I'm around."

Jungkook nodded, his grip on Taehyung tightening as he buried his face in Taehyung’s shoulder. "Thank you… for coming for me," he murmured. "For… not leaving me."

Taehyung gently lifted Jungkook's chin, meeting his eyes. "Kook, you’re the most important person to me. I’ll never leave you. We’re going to get through this together, alright?"

Jungkook’s eyes shimmered with a mixture of relief and gratitude. "I trust you, Taehyung," he said softly. "With everything."

Just then, they heard a knock on the door. Taehyung turned his head slightly as Minho entered, his expression serious. "Tae, I wanted to let you know… we have them outside. They’re secured."

Taehyung’s gaze hardened for a moment as he nodded. "Thank you, Minho." He looked back at Jungkook, his expression softening. "Stay here and rest, okay? I’ll handle this."

Jungkook looked at him with concern but nodded, trusting Taehyung completely. "Okay… but be careful," he whispered, gripping Taehyung's hand one last time before letting go.

Taehyung gave him a reassuring smile before standing up and following Minho out.

As soon as Taehyung left the room, Jungkook lay still for a moment before a small, wry smile crept onto his face. "Ah, Jungkook," he murmured to himself softly, his tone now devoid of the fear and vulnerability he’d shown before. "You really outdid yourself this time." His fingers lightly tapped the edge of the blanket as he chuckled to himself, the soft sound almost eerie in the quiet room.

He sat up slowly, his eyes darkening as he looked toward the door Taehyung had exited. "That was almost too easy… convincing him like that," he whispered with a smirk, his tone completely changed.
