We were led out of the elevator into a room with all the other tributes in the districts before us. I was told to stand in a circle around a trainer who explained everything what will be happening in the next two days of training. It was just about that you should do the survival things first because you could die without it. I knew that. It's exactly what I was going to do.
I went straight to the fire making station and learned how to make a fire. It was quite easy actually. You just had to rub sticks together with the right amount of friction and a spark happens then a fire starts. It was easy enough. Then I went over to the trap station. I felt like I needed to do that the most, second to the weapons.
It was interesting how I figured it out. It took me awhile to get it right, but I got one of them right at least. I got the fling one right. It was when an animal stepped into the right spot, something would be flug at it and it would be killed. I decided to figure out how to do the cage one as well. It was the same concept of the animal stepping into the right spot, but you needed a lure. You could use food to lure the animal, which I did, and it would get caught in the cage and you would kill it. Easy enough, I guess.
I then went off to the important thing. I wanted to find my weapon specialty. I tried with the bow, but I pretty much was unsuccessful at that. I tried the sword, but I couldn't do that either, so I moved onto the knives and blades. I could do it better than the other things, but I decided to try other things, then if I failed at everything else, I could get better at the knives and blades. I tried many other things, but what I thought would happen pretty much happened, so I went back to the knives and blades and practices. I got really good at it in a short period of time.

At the end of the training session, I could hit the dummy square in the stomach. At least I'm getting progress. We were led back into our house and I went into the kitchen because I haven't eaten all day. Liam had followed me and brushed pass me to get an apple. He seemed to like apples. I looked over at him and his was focused on eating his apple. I made myself a sandwich. It was a good sandwich that was just a regular, everyday one. It consisted of turkey, provolone cheese, and mayonnaise. I took a bite out of my sandwich and Liam smiled at me. I started chuckling for no reason and Liam looked me confused.
"I'm sorry. I just couldn't help it. You just smiled at me when I was eating my sandwich. It doesn't make sense, but neither does this world, so I fit right in," I said with a wink. He smiled again at me and chuckled softly.
"I know, I just saw you take a bite and I don't know. I just smiled at you."
I smiled at his confusing explanation. "I guess we're both just tired huh? 'Cos neither of us are making any sense..." I stated, looking down. "Time to call it a night?" I added. He nodded and we both headed our separate ways.
I did my usual nightly routine and got into bed. Tomorrow we were training again, so I get more time with knives. I'm happy about that. For the first time in awhile I started to think about Jack again. I started to think about the dream too. I didn't want that to happen. I wanted to stay alone for awhile because I didn't want the pressure of lads. I didn't like it.
My eyelids just slowly dropped and I fell asleep thinking about the two lads I knew and the Games.

I woke up and pretty much the same thing happened as yesterday. We were led to the same place, but the explanation didn't need to happen, we trained more. I did they fore starting station again and also the traps to get more traps. They were difficult, but doable. So I did them without complaining. I worked on my knives and blades even more. I got really good at it.
I practiced aiming at the middle of the person this time, not the stomach, but the chest area. I can almost get it, but I just need to focus more I guess or more practice. I never like to say 'Practice makes perfect.' Because what if you practice it wrong and you say it's perfect? Then what is going to happen when you get corrected and you have to learn it the other way? I prefer to say 'Practice makes permanent.' It's more understandable because I was taught that a few years back.
At the middle of the training, I finally got the chest area multiple times. I had finally got it! I was giddy with excitement, so I kept doing it. I finally had got it down pact and I was ready to deal with some knives! I made my way over to Liam who was practicing his newly found weapon specialty; a bow and arrow. I never thought he would be good at that. I smiled at the brunette boy. His chocolate eyes were focusing on getting the aim just right. He finally let the arrow go from the bow and it hit the dummy straight in the chest.
"Liam! I never thought you were that good! Great job!" I said, coming up behind him, making him jump. Oh, I forgot he didn't know I was there... Oh well... He just laughed,
"Thanks, May. You aren't so bad at the knife! I saw you and you're super good!" He told me. I couldn't help but blush and so I did. I smirked a bit to tell him thank you. "You're welcome," he said, taking what I did as a thank you. "So anything else you learned?" He asked, shooting another arrow and hitting the same spot. My eyes widened at how good he was. He shot two arrows at the same spot and it was stunning.
"Well, I learned how to make a fire and a few traps! I think I need to study my berries..." I drifted off. I did need to learn how to tell a poisonous berry from a good one. Liam nodded and I walked away to the berry station.
I did indeed learn so much. There were little differences from a poisonous berry and a regular one, but if you learned what they were, you could tell right off the bat. Like the poisonous berry could have a darker color than the good berry. I probably needed to learn about the nuts too.
I soon learned everything about nuts and berries. I felt good about it because I didn't want to die because of a stupid berry that I ate.

All the Career district tributes were showing off their power instead of trying to learn the natural things. I think they were just trying to intimidate us to be scared of them and be scared of them in the games. I mean, who wouldn't? They were pretty powerful and scary. I learned how to tie some knots for extra traps and I went on the the knives again.
I practiced hard and I soon got perfect at it. Like I would be surrounded by dummies and I could kill them all in a matter of seconds. Liam could do that too, but they had to be farther away. We were improving on everything little by little and once the training days were over, I felt really good about the games. I felt like I actually had a chance at winning.
Did I?

Fanfiction--Alright before you say anything, I know this story may be bad, but please hear me out. I know that in Catching Fire it is totally different, but I wanted it to be my way, and so I made this book. In this book Catching Fire doesn't exist, alright...
