"I never told him."

The thought hit Dick like a dose of Joker Gas. He slowly made his way toward that miserable spot in the Arctic where they had defeated the Reach once and for all.

But Dick wasn't there, exactly one year later, to celebrate. He was there to mourn.

Wally West. What more could be said? He was one of the greatest human beings Dick had ever known, and that was saying something because Dick knew the Justice League.

Wally was the glue of the team. He made everyone laugh. He fixed all their problems with just a few quick words.

"Quick." Dick wasn't surprised he couldn't bring himself to laugh.

Most importantly, Dick was there on the anniversary of Wally's...

His...

The anniversary of his...

Dick dropped to his knees. A whole year and he couldn't even say it in his head, let alone out loud.

Dick wasn't just sad that he'd lost his best friend of six years, he was even more depressed that he'd never told him something. Something important.

So, in the weeks following the incident, Dick had watched every tape he had of every mission with Wally.

He left out the ones with his and Artemis' "special time."

Dick locked himself in his room at Wayne Manor and he watched those tapes until he couldn't close his eyes without seeing Wally.

Then he cried.

He cried for his best friend, the love of his life, Wally West. Kid Flash.
