Wally thought he knew everything about his best friend. And that was saying something, because Dick shared very little with very few people. Of course Wally knew how special he was, he was the only person besides the main nine leaguers and Alfred who knew who Dick really was. Wally more than understood the level of trust required not only by Bruce to let him in on the secret, but also by Dick to tell him about why he became the Boy Wonder.
And Wally knew even more than that just because they were best friends. Dick sleeps on his stomach, his favourite color is green, he loves strawberries, hates most Disney movies (that one was understandable)(orphans and all), his favourite food is Alfred's pancakes, and he could quote Sherlock Holmes better than Watson himself.
This was why Wally was surprised when he came by Wayne Manor one morning, was let in by Alfred and led up to Dick's room, was told Dick would be out of the shower in a minute, and (finally), he heard singing.
That's right folks, singing, coming from the younger boy's bathroom. The water was still running, but Wally could hear the words even over the splashing against tile. It scared him even more that he could make out what Dick was saying.
"Jingle bells, Batman smells, Robin's the best sidekick..." He finished the song, then switched tactics completely. "Oh the weather outside is frightful..."
Wally literally fell to the ground and crawled to lay with his ear against the door crack. Dick was good. Like, really good. He was freaking Wally out.
"And I brought some corn for popping, and since we've no place to go; let it snow! Let it snow! Let it snow!" Dick Grayson made Christmas songs sound like love ballads. It was like Michael Bublé but sexier. How could Wally have never heard Dick sing?!?
Dick finished his song, turned the water off and started another one. Wally could not believe what he was hearing. It was Baby, It's Cold Outside. (Just the male part.)
After a few seconds, Dick came out of the bathroom and almost dropped his towel, which would have been embarrassing for both of them.
"Wally?" He squeaked. He ran to his dresser, grabbed some underwear and pants, and somehow managed to put them on without dropping the towel.
"Oh please," Wally said, leaning back on the wall, "don't stop the singing on my account."
Dick blushed with his whole face. "You heard that, huh?"
Wally smirked. "Pretty sure the whole county heard that, Rob. Not that I'm complaining. You're a great singer."
"I'm really not," Dick replied, putting a shirt on and shuffling toward Wally. "I can tell when you're poking fun, you know."
"I really don't think you can, I've done it more than a few times without getting caught." Wally dodged the swipe at his jaw and flashed away, rushing back just as quickly and standing in the same spot.
"What was that for?" Dick asked knowingly. He glanced up at the ceiling and found that he was right. Wally kissed him quickly, a little too quickly for Dick's liking, then pulled away and grinned.
He pointed at the ceiling and winked. "Mistletoe."
