Decided to nuke off Eclipto just because.

------------

Ganymede kicks off his shoes at the entrance, the soft thud echoing through the quiet hallway. He lets his backpack slip from his shoulder, the dull thump of it landing beside his discarded jacket creating a comforting rhythm in the stillness of the house. The rare gift of getting home early from school feels almost surreal. His last-period teacher called in sick, releasing the students into the warm embrace of an unexpected afternoon. The peaceful bus ride back felt like a reprieve, the world outside whirring past in a blur while inside, he is enveloped in a cocoon of thoughts.

As he moves further into the house, Ganymede hears the unmistakable, booming timbre of Jupiter’s voice mingling with the delightful, high-pitched giggle of Athena—his and Europa’s little girl. A rush of warmth floods through him, igniting a smile as he approaches the source of the joyful sounds.

He pauses in the doorway, leaning against the frame, captivated by the enchanting scene unfolding before him.

In the center of the room, Jupiter sits on the floor, his massive frame somehow softened by the playful grin illuminating his features. He's crouched low, making a conscious effort to contain his gravitational energy, mindful of the delicate decor surrounding them. His presence is a paradox—both overwhelming and reassuring. Directly in front of him, Athena, a tiny whirlwind of energy, sits cross-legged, her bright green eyes gleaming with wonder. She reaches up, her small hands stretching toward him, barely able to encircle one of his enormous fingers.

“Buh-buh!” she babbles, her voice filled with glee as she looks up at Jupiter, who gently wobbles his gravity in response. The movement creates a playful dance between them, an enchanting spectacle of cosmic proportions.

“Oh, are we babbling now, Athena?” Jupiter chuckles, his deep, rumbling laughter resonating throughout the room. The sound is warm and inviting, causing the curtains to flutter ever so slightly. “I think someone’s got plenty to say, don’t they?”

Ganymede smiles widely, feeling a surge of affection as he watches his daughter clap her tiny hands in delight. She wobbles her little upper body back and forth, her giggles punctuating the air every time she manages to match Jupiter’s gentle rhythm.

“Having fun, big guy?” Ganymede steps into the room, crossing his arms playfully, his grin widening.

Jupiter looks up, his eyes sparkling with delight as they meet Ganymede’s gaze. “Oh, hey! I didn’t hear you come in,” he says, a hint of confusion lacing his tone. “Wait, why are you home so early? Did something happen?”

Ganymede chuckles softly, stepping closer to share in the moment. “Yeah, our last-period teacher called in sick, so we all got sent home early. Kind of a nice surprise, right?” He takes a couple of steps in the room, bending down to poke Athena’s cheek gently, delighting in her squeal of excitement as she recognizes him, her eyes lighting up with joy.
