Like promised I made another one! This isn't close to the canon in any way so just bear with me.

The moons of Neptune clustered around Triton as he finally returned, with Proteus in tow. Triton looked visibly relieved as Ganymede and Europa had emerged alongside the little moon, though his exasperation was written all over his face. Proteus had been missing for weeks, and Triton had been frantically searching, only to discover that the small moon had snuck off with Callisto, Io, and himself on a mission to track down the banished moons, Ganymede and Europa.

"Do you know how worried I was, Proteus?" Triton scolded, adjusting his sunglasses with a sharp tug. "You didn't even tell me where you were going! What if something had happened to you? You're lucky they found you!"

Proteus, glowing brightly with excitement, seemed oblivious to the reprimand. His attention was fixed solely on Ganymede and Europa. The two banished moons stood nearby, weary from their own travels but undeniably relieved to be back among familiar faces.

"I had to go!" Proteus said defensively, his glow pulsing slightly. "Everyone kept saying it wasn't fair that Ganymede and Europa were banished. And there was all this talk about protesting the Sun, but no one was doing anything! So I figured... I'd tag along and find them myself."

Europa raised a brow, glancing over at Ganymede. The taller moon grinned lazily, his arm slung casually over her shoulder. Europa promptly brushed it off and crouched slightly to meet Proteus's gaze. Her steely demeanor softened as she studied the small moon. "You went looking for us?" she asked quietly.

Proteus nodded enthusiastically, his glow brightening. "Of course! You've always looked out for moons like me. It's not fair what happened to you and Ganymede. And... you always take care of the smaller moons when no one else does."

Ganymede snorted, crossing his arms as he leaned against Europa. "Oh, she tries to take care of me too, in case you hadn't noticed. Loves bossing people around."

"Shut it, Ganymede," Europa muttered, not breaking her focus on Proteus. "That was brave of you, Proteus. Reckless, but brave."

Proteus's glow flickered with a mix of pride and nervous energy before he suddenly blurted out, "Really, Mom?"

The silence that followed was so profound that even the nearby asteroids seemed to pause in their orbit. Triton froze, his sunglasses slipping slightly down his nose. Callisto and Io, who had been lingering nearby, exchanged wide-eyed looks. Even the other moons scattered in the distance seemed to stop and turn their attention toward the little group.

Ganymede, however, was the first to react. He doubled over, laughing so hard that his glow flickered erratically. "Mom?! Oh, that's fantastic. Babe, you've got yourself a fan club now!"

"Don't embarrass me, you guys," Triton muttered, tipping his sunglasses down completely to squint at Proteus.

Europa's eye twitched, and she ignored Ganymede's laughter entirely. Instead, she knelt closer to Proteus, her voice softer this time. "You... think of me as your mom?"

Proteus hesitated, suddenly worried he had gone too far. "Well... yeah. You always look out for us. You stood up to the Sun when no one else dared to. Isn't that what moms do?"

Europa blinked, momentarily at a loss for words. Something about the little moon's sincerity struck a chord deep within her. She sighed, shooting a brief glare at Ganymede, who was still grinning like an idiot, before returning her attention to Proteus.

"Alright," she said at last, her tone firm but kind. "If you want to call me 'Mom,' I won't stop you. But only you, Proteus. Got it?"

Proteus's glow brightened to a near-blinding level as joy radiated from him. "Really? Thanks, Mom!"

Europa sighed again, shaking her head with a faint smile tugging at her lips. "Yeah, yeah. Just... don't scare us like that again, okay?"

Triton, who had been standing stiffly, finally found his voice. "You're just going to let this happen? Europa, he sneaked into the farthest reaches of space!"

"Oh, give him a break," Ganymede interjected, draping an arm over Europa's shoulders again. "The kid's got guts. Besides, if anyone's gonna be the mom of the revolution, it's this one."

"Call me 'Mom' and I'll end you," Europa shot back, glaring up at him.

"Noted," Ganymede replied, grinning from ear to ear.

Proteus, completely unbothered by the banter, floated closer to Europa, his small form glowing with uncontained joy. He opened his arms wide and hugged her. Europa hesitated, the action clearly unfamiliar to her, before she finally placed a tentative, gloved hand on his back. Her touch was light but steady, and for a moment, the chaos around them seemed to fade.

The little moon beamed brighter than ever, and Europa's expression returned quickly, a tiny smile lingered on her lips.
