I wake up to the distant sound of ringing in my room, forcing me to get up. Groggily, I rub my eyes lazily as I unlock my phone, swiping the green symbol across the screen.
"Hhello?" I answer, still in a daze.
"Hey girl, we're still meeting up later at 3 to get you a costume for the party right?"
Crap, so the Halloween party was today. I vaguely remember being handed an orange paper by one of my classmates a week ago, but it had slipped to the back of my mind. "Yup.."
"Kay see you later." Ino chirps before abruptly hanging up
I swiped out of messages and take a glance at the time, "12:00 PM"
It's not that I'm in a rush— but It's twelve?? I wonder how I slept for so long? My mind traces back to yesterday, piecing back everything:
If I remember correctly, Sasukes older brother—Itachi drove us home from the library, huh. It's a bit hazy, maybe I really did need that nap.
I later throw on a baggy off-the-shoulder sweater and some jeans, letting my hair loose today. It's just a quick trip to the mall; the make up and dressing up can happen later at Inos.
After a quick breakfast I wait on the couch for my mom to take her sweet time.
Finally, we get in the car and by 3:10 im waving goodbye to my mom as she goes her separate way.
My eyes dart back and forth as I realize I don't see a familiar blondie here. Where is Ino??
Someone comes up behind me and grabs my shoulder, making me jump and squeal.
"Surprise!" her voice full of mischief.
"Ino, you scared me!" I said seriously, clutching at my chest.
"Gosh relax will you, the party is todayyy!" She says in a singing voice.
"oh shoot what are you going as?" I questioned breathlessly.
"A vampire, duhh" she said matter-of-factly. "The real question is, what are you going to do?"
"Hmm.." I hold my chin, there were almost no Halloween costumes left the day of, so I would just have to put together my own.
Suddenly, an idea just hits me:
"I know exactly what I'm doing, follow me." I say with a grin, tugging her along:
