SAKURAS POV:
My eyes trailed him as he slipped his backpack over his shoulder, the door closing behind him with a loud thud. He left us with lingering silence, it weighed over all of us until they broke out into whispers.
I tuned out all the lies they'd make up, I'm more focused on Naruto at the moment. I wonder how he's feeling, given how his best friend came in without a word all bruised up. I could see it in his eyes he wanted to move desks to talk with him, but Kakashi forbade it, and now he's gone.
Waiting through 6 more periods felt like hell, the only way I got through was by spacing out and doodling. When the bell finally rang at 2:15, my body shot up from my desk as I started quickly putting away my stuff. Meanwhile, I overheard a conversation going on between Naruto and Kakashi Sensei.
He tapped onto Naruto's head with a stack of papers, "Naruto, could you drop off Sasuke's homework for today, I can trust you because you two are best friends."
Despite the gloomy mood Naruto had earlier, his face brightened and he looked genuinely happy at his comment. I couldn't help but let out a grin at the sight, Naruto's smile is contagious. "Thanks Sensei, I'll definitely make sure he gets it."
As I finish zipping up my backpack, my friends stood at the doorframe, motioning for me to hurry. I throw my backpack over my shoulder and catch up with them as Tenten holds on to the back of my backpack.
As soon as I caught up to them Ino released her smirk, "So, Sakura... what were you two doing earlier?"
My face changed as I began to cringe, "Ugh Ino, enough with the Naruto thing."
Ino rolled her eyes, "No, you idiot. I meant the eye contact that you and strawberry shared" she stated matter-of-factly. "Hey, Naruto's not even ugly, he's universally cute." Tenten said.
I raise my brows at Tenten, and reply to Ino."Strawberry?" I drawled.
"Oh my god Sakura, SASUKE. It's a nickname we'll use from now on." Ino said as if it was obvious.
Karin strutted by, giving me a dirty glare. The hell?
After she left my sight I was quick to comment "Did you guys just see the look Karin gave me? I don't know why she hates me so much!" I say dumbfounded.
Tenten replied: "She's jealous Sakura, remember?" She pointed to Ino, "Karin probably heard us talking about Sasuke VERY loudly"
"Why would she only give me the dirty look?" I replied.
Temari chimed in "Duh, everyone's all over your looks ever since you transferred. She's jealous because you have a better chance with Sasuke. Take it as a compliment."
