The moon's light spread along the lands , the streets filled with men and women trying to make a living for themselves. My heart yearned for their peace but I knew it was beyond my hands as young as I was. Morphed by the corrupted systems the founding families had put on us . Everything was but savagery , having found magical power ranking from the lows to the highs this was not exactly a world I had expected it to turn out to be. The opening of my bedroom door snapped me out of my unconscious thoughts as the black haired male entered my room. His green jade eyes looking down at me as I sat outside on the patio. He sighed in relief knowing I was safe. He was always like this , and I doubt he'd ever change. Regardless of what happens.
" You know , I was starting to wonder where you were when you didn't pitch for the founding meeting earlier today. " he said , slowly walking towards me after closing the door behind him. He sat near me and watched where my eyes were wondering upon. He pursed his lip and glared down at the two men fighting over a handbag using their abilities to get the upper hand. " I know that you want to liberate these people , but as I tell you now and have told you several times before this is beyond our power and capabilities. We just have to accept that this is the life that we are bound to live by. Us children of the founding family living up high and the those who aren't fortunate enough ruled over by us. It's just the way it goes I guess "
My gaze never looked away as a man used his sharp nails to slash at his opponents shoulder. His strike connecting with flesh and red streaks dripping down his finger nails. " Your right and I know it's true , but have you never thought of that smallest of hope resided in us. In the people , that we and they might be freed of the shackles that have eternally binded us. That we will ever in our lives be able to revolt and change the course of our lives ?" I aksed as a shriek of pain eminated from below. The man who managed to strike at his opponent having successfully killed him as the shrieks muffled into silence. The victor claiming his prize and making a run for it.
On the other side of the street the Guardians emerge , taking chase to the man who had now done justice an immense wrong. Ethans scruff voice floated in the air " I have , because you've always made me think of it. If only we could get the stones of creation and destruction all this wouldn't be happening. We would re write our parents wrongs and heal all of our shattered and detered hearts." his pain eminated through his voice. I sent him him a look of empathy to make sure he was okay , and as he always was. He was always fine.
All of a sudden the door abruptly swung open ,hinges squealing as the door slammed painfully against the wall that concealed us. Six men rushed into my room and stood side by side blocking the door the only entrance and exit except for the patio but I doubt anyone would want to use that way . The two men who stood in the middle of the group , one heralding black hair and the other a blonde
" The founding families request your protection , you must come with us. Willingly or unwillingly. " the men chanted. Me and my brother first looked at each other then looked at the group of men blocking us.
" Protection from what dangers? My brother and I are more than capable of keeping ourselves safe. " my brother said standing up to face the group of men. His dark jade like eyes began giving off an ominous glow of wrath.
The guards didn't back down and instead they took their charge. The two center men rushed forward with great unfathomable speed towards us. I hadn't been prepared nor has I activated my abilities before hand so the black haired man grabbed my left leg just as I was about to make a run for it and pinned me to the rough tiled floor. Putting all his weight on my body to stop me from retaliating in a not so pleasant manner.
Ethan on the other hand was already trying to make a dash for it but we both knew that he'd only delay the inevitable. He used his strength to push away two of the guards and tried to get to me but a brown haired giant collided with him , sending him flying and he hit the steel bars painfully hitting his head on the floor and fell unconscious. With a smirk the giant man looked at me and sent me a threatening scowl. Two of the man carried my brother out the door and three decided that I needed more attention. The man who pinned me grabbed both of my arms and the other two held my legs and ushered me out of the room into the long and dreadful hallway I used to play in.
" What is this? Why are you doing this? Let us go! " I demanded in an unimpressed tone of anger. The men didnt replay but instead tightened their grip on me. I looked at my brother who was slung over the man's shoulder. I felt bad that I wasn't prepared to fight back and I swore to myself that I'll never let a mishap like that happen again. Now that I thought of it , why did the founding families want us to be protected? I know that if we are being held captive then the children of the other founding families were also being treated the same way.
Is this part of the project the founding families have been greatly working on?
No! or Maybe? I couldnt get my head to think straight at this time so I just resigned trying to make a run for it and just let these men carry me away. What a way to end the day wasn't it?I watched the guards as we were carried into another set of hallways I've never seen before , it looked like it needed more lighting but why haven't I recognised it before? This house is clearly too big for me to realise and discover every secret it held. Screw this house and it's endless passages. A metal door stood at the end of the hallway. The men rushed forward as one of the group members opened the metal door as it rolled to the side, pressurized gas gushed out through the sides in the process. We were thrown in without much care and locked in as the men stood at the sides of the door. The room was rather nostalgic and my claustrophobia was starting to kick in.
Though my heart was more concerned for my brother than a stupid fear. I ran over to his limp body lying in the corner and sat by him. He was still breathing which was good. He'd wake up soon and we would find a way to get out of this. My brother really wasn't one to be kept in captivity. He'd always break out of wherever he was trapped in , although something tells me that it isn't going to work this time.
__________
After some time he finally woke up , he lied against the wall and looked around , wondering where we were and why we had been held in captivity. At least that's what I assumed he was telling himself.
" Hey , good to see that your finally up. " I said in a low voice, which was barely audible. He gave me a weak smile and looked around us. The white walls holding us in.
" Why are we in here?I don't get why were being held here…. Do you think it's because of that project the founders are working on? " he said in a low voice.
Intrigue got the better of me , I know wanted to know what he was talking about. Maybe we'd find a reason as to why we are down here.
" Tell me about it , we might find out something that we didn't know about. " I said in a low voice , looking at the two guards standing outside. Still like statues. Not a flinch of the muscle not a twitch of a finger. Only their chest moving outwards and inwards as they slowly breathed in a cold and menacing silence. It was almost spine chilling. Almost.
" I'm not quite sure of it , they said something about a virus that'd do something when inhaled. Wire the victims brain to do something. " He said still quite in a haze from what had happened earlier.
A virus ? One that'd re-wire the inhaler's brain. It makes no sense. We live a cruel world filled with vile people , with savage like behaviour. Always trying to commit crimes and get away with it scot free. The only reason why they would want to wire their brains is to control them , or at least remove the segments that led to their savage and vile actions. At least this is what I think. I might be wrong, but either way this isn't good.
" It's a virus that will remove their savage and vile actions from their brain. It's airborne and if you paid attention in science you would know that airborne viruses spread like wildfire and they don't stop, well if I'm right then that's the most definite case. It would also explain why we are held here , this room only let's in filtered air , meaning that the virus isn't going to be able to enter this room. We are safe but everyone else isn't. " I told my brother in a more serious tone , but like with all major plans something had to backfire and if it did how much damage would it cause ?
" This isn't good now is it? Well I know these rooms are nearly impossible to break , and with this virus spreading around I know that it's much safer to stay in here and wait it out then to rush out blindly. " he said as he got to his feet and dusted himself off. I sat on the chair in the corner in silence. So did he , now to wait it all out.
