Distopian Recreation

Chapter 4

I took a deep sigh of relief after finally seeing Astrid appear from the black 4×4 parked farther down the passage. Ethan stepped out first , showing his confidence and also relief to seeing some of his peers and age mates in the scene. I followed his actions and did likewise but I took my precautions and stayed near the car. At this rate I'd rather stay where I am rather than to get mixed up in the storm of family offspring

Astrid drew nearer and seperated from himself from the crowd. His long black hair and jade green eyes lookimg around frantically whilst managing to keep a calm composure while prancing along the damp path. " It's pretty rude to not greet people you haven't seen in a while you know " Astrid said in his ice stone voice whilst strolling along.

I have a heavy huff and scoffed , " I don't see anything wrong with it " I said turning my head towards the woods. I looked into the woods in deep content  , seeing a deer leap through the dense woods with much elegance. Astrid drew closer and stood by me next to the car. He looked in the same direction I did but only managed to look at the trees.

" It's quite strange that this happened , though it was fairly expected " he said leaning against the car in a bored manner. Astrid finished his biology and chemistry course so he knew almost all there is to now about viruses and genes and all that stuff , it would be useful to have him around if we ever wanted to reverse the virus , which I was intending on my doing.

" True that , although it's airborne so soon enough it'll start spreading to other cities and it might even the rest of the world " I said in a dread voice. Soon enough this group might possibly shrink

" Indeed although the airborne strain for this virus is already over , until in a few months when another wave starts but for now the only way for this virus to spread is through physical contact or if someone who is infected with it sneezes right into another person " he said validating our safety for now.

Though we had to find a place to stay while revising a plan to eradicate the plage which polluted this planet. Touching Astrid on the chest I walked to the rest of the group which had already began seeing what they had and trying to prioritise what I believed was a way to stay alive. Once I reached the edge of the  group I slipped into the middle where my brother was talking with the other eldest children from the founding families. Scoffing a little to catch everyone's attention I looked to see if I've caught the attention of all the people around , which I did.

" We all know why we've ended up here , and we all might possibly want to correct the wrongs our parents have done. Even though we've fled our home we must move on and plot our next move strategically. Seeing that all the infected people have gone rouge and completely lost their minds , we cannot stay here since we are practically sitting ducks in this open wilderness. I'm not even sure what these people are capable of , so if we've all made plans on our assets we should better find a place which isn't easy to break in. Does anyone have any ideas on such ?"

The group began talking amongst themselves about what I've just said , possibly thinking of places to stay and talking over the little information and the plain knowledge I just let them now. Astrid drew in nearer and stood near me and joined the other eldest siblings in the discussion. After a little while one of the eldest rose his hand and the other cinversations quickly stilled. Jason from the Wildfern family spoke up. The eldest in the group.

" There is a university not more than a kilometer or so from here , since it's their semester break right about now no one is there except the handful of guards who were posted there to keep the place safe , they aren't really powerful and if the virus infected then too , they won't be much stronger still. If we can take out those goons then we will set our base there , it also has a laboratory and all the things we will need to survive. So if we all agree we can head there later tonight since it's already dark " he said with confidence.
