Streaks of sunlight seaped through the barely opened blinds , heralding the early arrival of morning. I opened my eyes and looked around , the faint light was enough for me to not use my advanced vision. I silently got up to my feet amd decided to make a change of attire. I opened my bag and pulled out some sport shorts and sneakers with a black shirt and black jersey. Putting them asside I dug deeper and found a towel , just as I was just about to open the door I realised that I didn't know where the showers were located.

Sighing I turned over and looked at Ethan's wriggling body underneath the blanket. Showing that he was waking up and taking an early start to the day as well. I think it was just about six in the morning. " Ethan do you know where the showers are ?" I asked politely trying to not sound rude or harsh. I groan came through under the covers and soon a head popped out from underneath.

" Head down left on the this hallway and take a left at the end your there " he said softly plopping onto the pillow and covering  his head again.

I  nodded politely and headed out closing the door behind me , I walked down the light grey hallways slowly trying not to rush ahead. Whilst walking down the hallway my sense of smell spiked , I paused in my tracks and began taking deep breathes. My sense of smell had been greatly heightened after turning , I began sifting through thousands and thousands of old scents. The smallest trace of the savagery virus lingered in various places in the air. This was concerning , I'd have to enquire Astrid about this. Well that's if I had the courage to face him and behemoth of a best friend.

Pushing the two men out of my mind , I continued my stride to the shower room. I took a left down the end of the hallway just as Ethan instructed. As soon as I saw the glass door my footsteps quickened and I grabbed the handle. Twisted it pushed it open and entered , the door gladly closed itself behind me. I took a look at the showers , all the shower heads were close to each other. Zero stalls , zero privacy is what this place called out.

I walked over to the farthest stall and opened the tap , the warm water cloaked my body with heat , running down my body. It felt like a ceremonious shower of freedom. My troubles ran down with the water trickling down my body , all the negative talks drowned in the flaming justice of my inner peace. It was a good feeling , if no one was going to give me warmth at least water can , but I had the worst possible luck in the world.

The door opened and closed shut again , slowly heralding the arrival of another soul. I heard the faint footsteps draw closer to me and stopped just a mere two feet away from.  Who in this entire university was not afraid enough to stand this close to me in a shower room? He better have not lost his marbles!  I closed the tap and dried my face with a towel , looking up I finally knew who was not afraid of me. It just had to be the one and only Brandon Wild. Hurray!!

I looked up at his naked upper body , brown haired chest. Rippling abdominals and a gigantic chest. The only reason why I hadn't been able to beat him. His head tilted to the side and has head moved forward and grabbed my head.

" Good morning , I just wanted to tell you that I never wanted to harm you. Its just that your inner identity is very offsetting and my natural reaction is to kill any negative entities. So if you thought I hated to , I genuinely don't. Its an empulsive reaction. If it was for that I wouldn't have attacked you all those times. " I looked at his face and a gentle smile emerged. Had I been to emotional about it I wouldn't have noticed him mentioning my instincts.

" If that's so then apology accepted , the more interesting thing is how do you know about my inner being. What do you mean by 'negativity' and " I couldn't finish my sentence while starring at him , I looked down to avoid his gaze " how do you feel about me after , you know ?" I said softly trying to keep my voice at a low.

" I am one with nature , I can feel what everyone feels and I see what resides in everyone's bodies. You are special the virus has made itself one with you and  you aren't fighting it. So your energy and the way your reacting isn't your fault but that of the virus. To the second question , just because your now different doesn't mean I won't treat you the same. I'm still your friend and I'll always protect you like I protect the others." He said in his calm voice.

" What if I slip up and " I clenched my towel with my two hands , thinking about it was bad enough. " go loose , attack everyone and eventually kill someone or some people. What would you do then ?" I shook my head slowly , knowing the answer to that obvious question.

" I will restrain you , just because you kill a few people doesn't erase the identity at root. Regardless of what you turn to be I'll never kill you , or anyone else I hold dear. " He said curtly his smile beaming over me.

His response hurt me too much to respond , instead I turned the shower on again. The water hugging me tightly once more. The shower next to me came to life. He hadn't left. Brandon was a strange character , always patient , always loyal , always protective and oh so ever loving and caring. Its what made him such a great friend. Even if his past hinders him forever , he will never change. He never has.

" Thank you , at least I know I'm not alone." I whispered softly under the noise of the shower , closing my eyes to take in the thoughts.

" You were always loved " the response came just as silently.

Silence rained over the two of us , only the noise of the showers filling the room. A friendship once shattered now woven back to its previous nature
