Saanvi's POV

I stood quietly by the door of Saira's room, my heart heavy as I watched Devansh tuck our daughter into bed. The gentle way he handled Saira, his careful movements and the loving gaze he directed at her, made my chest ache with emotion. There was something so profoundly touching about the way he treated her—like she was made of glass, fragile and precious, and he was afraid of breaking her.

"Sweet dreams, my little princess," he whispered, his voice barely above a murmur as he brushed a strand of hair from Saira's forehead. The sight of him bending down, kissing her gently, and whispering those soft words filled my eyes with tears I had been holding back. I turned my face away slightly, not wanting to intrude on this private moment, but I couldn't tear my gaze away.

"Papa, will you come and play with me tomorrow?" Saira's sleepy voice broke the silence, her eyes heavy with sleep yet still shining with innocence.

Devansh paused, a flicker of reluctance crossing his features. "Of course, I will, sweetheart. I'll be there. Just promise me you'll sleep tight tonight, okay?"

"I promise," she murmured, her eyelids fluttering as she surrendered to sleep. Devansh remained for a moment, watching her as if he was imprinting the memory of this moment in his mind. I could see the love in his eyes, and it both warmed and broke my heart.

As he finally stood up and left the room, his eyes met mine. There was a mixture of sadness and determination in his gaze, and I felt my throat tighten. I stepped forward, feeling the weight of everything that had happened.

"I hate this, Saanvi," he admitted quietly, running a hand through his hair, a gesture that revealed his stress. "I don't want to let her go."

"I know," I replied softly, moving closer to him. "But it's for her safety. We have to trust Rajesh "

He nodded, though the turmoil in his eyes remained. The thought of our little girl leaving without him—made my heart ache for him. "I just... I wish I could go with you both," he said, his voice barely above a whisper.

The next day passed in a blur of packing and quiet conversations. Every time I thought of Saira leaving, I felt a pang in my chest, but the reality of our situation was unavoidable. That night, we stood at the entrance of the penthouse, Rajesh waiting outside with a car, ready to take Saira and me to the airport.

Devansh turned to me, his expression softening as he cupped my face in his hands. "Saanvi..." he began, but I could see the struggle in his eyes.

Before I could respond, he leaned down and pressed a gentle kiss on my forehead, a gesture that held so much meaning. It was a promise, a reassurance, a reminder that no matter how dark the world around us became, our bond would remain unbroken.

As I leaned into him, closing my eyes for a moment, I wished this moment would stretch into eternity—this feeling of safety, love, and connection amidst the chaos.

Then, turning to Saira, who was holding onto her little backpack tightly, I saw the innocence of a child still unaware of the dangers surrounding her. "Saira, honey, it's time to go," I said, forcing a smile, hoping to ease the tension in the room.

"Will you come with us, Papa?" she asked, her voice full of hope.

Devansh's face fell for a moment. I could see how much he wanted to say yes, to take her in his arms and protect her from everything—but he couldn't. "I... I can't, princess," he said, his voice thick with emotion. "I have to stay here and take care of some important things."

The look on Saira's face was one of confusion and disappointment, and it tore at my heart. "But why, Papa?" she insisted, her eyes wide, brimming with unshed tears.

"I know it's hard, but I promise I'll be with you both again soon. You'll be safe with kabir, and I'll always be just a phone call away," he replied, kneeling to her level, forcing a smile for her sake, even as pain flickered in his eyes.

Reluctantly, he wrapped his arms around her, holding her tight as if he could shield her from the world's harshness in that moment. "You're my brave girl, remember? You have to be strong for me," he murmured, kissing her forehead tenderly.

"Okay, Papa," Saira replied, sniffling slightly, and I felt my heart shatter a little more.

Watching them embrace, I felt a surge of emotion wash over me. This was the man I had chosen to trust with my heart and my daughter's life. He was fierce, relentless, and deeply loving.

As Devansh finally let go, he stood back, straightening and taking a deep breath. He looked at me, and for a moment, we shared a look of understanding, one that spoke volumes about the challenges ahead.

"We'll get through this together, Saanvi," he said, his voice steady now.

"I know," I replied, feeling a glimmer of hope amidst the chaos. "We will."

With that, we moved toward the door, Rajesh standing ready to escort us to safety. As we stepped out into the night, I couldn't shake the feeling of foreboding that clung to my heart. But I also felt a flicker of determination. We would protect our family, no matter the distance, no matter the danger that lay ahead
