The air in the warehouse crackled with tension, a palpable energy that set Devansh's heart racing. He stood rooted in place, staring at Suman, his mother, as she began to laugh—a chilling sound that echoed off the cold, hard walls.
"Oh, Devansh," she mocked, a glint of madness in her eyes. "Let me tell you one more secret."
He braced himself, a sense of dread creeping over him. "What more could you possibly say that would surprise me?" he challenged, his tone dripping with sarcasm, though he felt the weight of her words in his gut.
"Raghav loves Saanvi," she declared, her voice low and sinister. "He would go to any lengths for her. In fact, he asked me to bring Saanvi Rathore to him as a present."
Devansh's heart sank, a cold realization dawning upon him. "You... you were going to use Saanvi to get to Raghav?"
"Exactly!" Suman grinned, her expression gleeful, almost manic. "I had to step in and eliminate Arjun Rathore to pave the way for Raghav. But before I could present Saanvi to him, you swooped in and married her!"
"You're insane," Devansh spat, his voice laced with fury. "You killed an innocent man just to fulfill your twisted desires?"
Suman shrugged, unfazed by his accusation. "Innocent? Hardly. Arjun was a threat to my plans. But what you don't realize is that you are the only obstacle remaining for Raghav and his rightful place in this world."
"You think I'll let that happen?" Devansh growled, his fists clenching at his sides. The thought of Raghav—this man she was claiming to be a son—taking Saanvi from him ignited a fire in his chest.
"Oh, you have no choice, dear son," Suman taunted, taking a step closer, her eyes glinting with a dangerous light. "I even know that Saanvi and Saira are in Japan right now. Raghav will do anything to have her. And soon, he will be free to take what he wants."
Devansh's mind raced. He had to protect Saanvi and Saira at all costs. The idea of Raghav pursuing Saanvi, a man whose very existence was intertwined with his mother's dark past, sent a shiver down his spine.
"You're playing a dangerous game," he warned, stepping forward, his voice low and threatening. "If you think I will allow you to manipulate anyone else in my life, you are sorely mistaken."
"Manipulation?" she scoffed, waving a dismissive hand. "I'm simply guiding fate, Devansh. What's meant to be will be, no matter how much you fight it."
"This isn't fate; it's a curse," he replied, his voice cold. "And I will do whatever it takes to break it."
Suman leaned in closer, her smile turning wicked. "You can't protect them forever. Raghav is driven, and when he finds out where they are, nothing will stop him from claiming Saanvi. Remember, you're just a pawn in this game."
Devansh felt the weight of her words settle heavily in his chest. He would not let Raghav, a man driven by revenge and his twisted love for Saanvi, destroy everything he held dear. He had to act quickly and decisively.
"Get out," Devansh hissed, rage bubbling to the surface. "I don't want to see your face again. Your games end here."
Suman straightened up, her laughter ringing in the air like a haunting melody. "You'll regret this, Devansh. You have no idea what's coming." With that, she turned on her heel, slipping back into the shadows, leaving Devansh alone in the warehouse with the dark storm of uncertainty brewing inside him.
He knew that time was running out. He needed a plan to protect Saanvi and Saira from the chaos that was about to unfold. The stakes had never been higher, and he wouldn't let anyone take away the family he had fought so hard to protect.
As he stood there, fury and determination coursing through him, one thought resonated louder than the rest: he would not allow Saanvi to become another victim of his family's dark legacy. Not now, not ever.
