Jungkook had finished with his promotions in Los Angeles and it was finally time for him to go to New York. Nari and Jinyoung of course flew with him to support him.
After being greeted by the hoard of fans at the airport, they were on the way to Nari's parent's penthouse in Brooklyn where they'd be staying for the next week.
Soon enough, they were in the penthouse sitting by the recently lit fireplace while waiting for their food to be delivered. La Belle et la Bête was playing on the flat screen tv above the fireplace.
Jungkook watched Nari as she lulled Jinyoung to sleep by humming and rocking him in her arms. Her blue hair was brushed to the side giving Jungkook a good view of the right side of her face.
The sight of her this natural, barefaced and relaxed made her look ethereal. Like the most beautiful woman Jungkook had ever laid his eyes on. The fire lit up her eyes, giving them that glow that Jungkook was obsessed with.
Was it normal to be this obsessed with your wife? Jungkook needed an answer immediately.
"I'm so lucky I met you." He said, grabbing Nari's attention. She turned her head to face him and smiled as his words sunk in. "I don't know who I'd be without you."
"Jeon Jungkook?" She teased getting an eye roll from Jungkook. "Be so serious." He deadpanned. Nari apologised before urging him to continue.
"Can you believe it's been three years since we've met?" Jungkook asked with such breathlessness. "I'm kind of glad those saesangs found my address. Is that bad?"
"Very bad, you could've gotten hurt," Nari nodded trying to suppress the smile threatening to appear. "But we would've found each other one way or the other. I worked at Hybe, so maybe fate would make me bump into you accidentally and you'd look at me and think I'm the most gorgeous person to walk the earth.
"And then fall in love with me and ask for my hand in marriage and then the next day, marry me in a courthouse."
Jungkook snickered at the idea of them getting married in a courthouse of all place. "Everything sounds plausible except the courthouse."
Nari pursed her lips in thought before grinning. "You're right, actually." She looked down to see Jinyoung fast asleep in her arms. "Let me go put him down."
She carefully stood up from the couch and headed to the guest bedroom where she laid Jinyoung down in the middle of the king-sized bed. Nari used the pillows to a create protective border at the edge of mattress, thankful that he had not learned to roll over and crawl yet before heading back to the living room.
The night had already fallen upon the city that looked more alive than it did during the day. The buildings lit up the night, acting as a substitute for the lack of stars due to light pollution.
From the top floor of the apartment building, they could see the Brooklyn bridge in the distance. And if Nari was being honest, she missed the city. But the views at night weren't enough to make her stay.
She joined Jungkook back on the couch, sitting close to him and cuddling onto his chest.
Moments of silence passed between them, the only sound audible being the wood cracking in the fire and the soft sorts of the movie playing.
"We should get a dog." Jungkook said suddenly, Nari looking up at the suddenness of his words.
"We should?" Her head titled slightly.
He nodded, "Mmh. I think having one will teach Jinyoung compassion for when he has a younger sibling."
Nari laid back onto his chest and hummed. It made sense, they planned on trying for another child within the next year and maybe adopting a dog could help Jinyoung learn how to be an older sibling.
