Hoseok sat silently in the plush leather seat of Mr. Kim’s sleek car, his thoughts spinning with worry and disbelief. Today, he was finally going to meet the old man’s six sons, the very people he’d been "matched" with by his own family. He couldn’t help but feel a deep sense of unfairness settling in. First of all, he hadn’t even met these guys before, and they were already in a relationship. And plus they were Six! Six of them! How was he going to deal with that?

And then there was his parents’ side of things—they were having the time of their lives now. He thought bitterly of how they’d demanded an astronomical sum, nine hundred billion won, from Mr. Kim in exchange for his marriage to the man’s sons. To Hoseok’s shock, Mr. Kim had agreed instantly, and his parents had practically shoved him out the door. Any hope he’d held that his parents might one day truly love him had pretty much disappeared in that instant.

Then another thought crossed his mind—what if these six sons were unattractive? Could he end up with ugly kids? The thought made him want to laugh and cry at the same time. This was insane.

Suddenly, his thoughts were interrupted as Mr. Kim pulled up in front of a set of massive, stylish gates. With a quick honk, the gates opened, and Hoseok’s jaw dropped as he saw the sprawling mansion beyond. The car cruised down a perfectly manicured driveway and parked near a fleet of cars—Hoseok counted at least thirty of them.

What the actual—

"Come on down, Hoseok," Mr. Kim called, pulling him out of his daydream.

Hoseok snapped his mouth shut, scrambling out of the car and trying not to trip over his own feet as he took in the compound. He couldn’t help but gawk—this was wealth beyond anything he’d ever seen.

Mr. Kim led him up to the doors of the mansion, which swung open to reveal two men in uniforms who bowed as they entered. Hoseok’s eyes darted around as he took in the opulent foyer and the living room beyond. A maid scurried past, carrying his luggage up a grand staircase. He wanted to offer to carry it himself, but she disappeared too quickly.

Inside, the interior of the mansion was like something out of a dream. The walls were a soft cream color, accented with tasteful gold trims and modern, abstract art pieces. An elegant chandelier with crystal strands dangled from the ceiling, casting a warm glow over everything. The floors were a polished marble, shimmering under the light, and plush, cozy-looking couches were set around a massive fireplace that looked like it belonged in a palace.

Everywhere he looked, Hoseok saw the sort of lavish design he’d only seen in magazines and on TV. He tried not to look too out of place, though his wide eyes and slack-jawed stare likely gave him away.

“Hoseok,” Mr. Kim said, turning to him with a smile. “My sons will be home soon. For now, make yourself comfortable. You have your own room upstairs.” He called for a maid, who appeared almost instantly, bowing before him.

“Please show him to his room,” Mr. Kim instructed.

The maid nodded, gesturing for Hoseok to follow her. He did, trailing behind as they ascended a grand staircase, running his fingers along the sleek bannister like it was some sort of treasure. Every step he took, he felt like he was stepping into an entirely new world.

Finally, they reached a polished white door. The maid gave a small bow and said, “This is your room, Mr. Hoseok. Your belongings have already been placed inside.” She bowed again and excused herself, leaving him to face the door alone.

Hoseok gulped, his palms clammy as he reached for the handle. Taking a deep breath, he pushed the door open, then froze in the doorway, his eyes going wide with astonishment.

The room was more luxurious than he could have imagined. He let out an excited squeal and dashed inside, quickly shutting the door behind him before racing to the bed and flopping onto the impossibly soft mattress. He giggled to himself as he bounced up and down, saying out loud, “This is the life! I’ve never slept on something so clean and soft in my life!”

After a moment of bliss, Hoseok sat up and began exploring the room, inspecting every inch with wide-eyed curiosity. The bedside table held a sleek touch-screen control panel that, with a tap, changed the lighting in the room from a soft white to a calming blue. He gasped and laughed, tapping it a few more times, creating a personal light show.

Next, he spotted a shiny silver tray with a high-tech-looking coffee machine and an assortment of fancy pods lined up next to it. "Is this… coffee?" He picked up one of the pods, turning it over as if he’d discovered a new species.

He moved over to a small glass cabinet and opened it, revealing a collection of expensive-looking colognes and lotions. He unscrewed the top of one, took a sniff, and recoiled slightly, surprised by the strong, musky scent. "So… that’s what rich people smell like?"

Laughing to himself, he crossed the room to check out the bathroom. When he opened the door, he had to blink a few times, stunned by the sight before him. The bathroom was a work of art. A massive Jacuzzi tub dominated one corner, flanked by fragrant candles and luxurious bath oils. The marble shower next to it had not one, but four shower heads, each with different water settings.

Curious, he pressed one of the buttons near the shower, and suddenly, soothing music filled the room. "Wait… the bathroom has a sound system?" Hoseok laughed again, clutching his stomach. "Who needs music while they shower?!"

He stepped further inside, inspecting a row of glass jars on the counter labeled things like "Volcanic Clay Mask" and "24K Gold Face Cream." He picked one up, squinting at the label. "Gold… for my face?" He couldn’t stop laughing, setting it down as he wandered back into the bedroom.

Hoseok flopped down on the bed again, staring up at the ceiling with a huge grin. "I can’t believe this… I’m living in some billionaire’s dream! Fuck my parents!"

As he lay there, catching his breath from his own laughter, he sighed, smiling to himself. For the first time in a long time, he felt a strange sense of excitement—a mix of curiosity and disbelief.

This was his life now… and he had a feeling things were just getting started.
