She turns around, hopeful.
"What?"
"We need to talk." I simply say. "Can everyone leave us be?" They all nod turning away, Billy last with a concerning look.
"If you need us, we are here, Agatha. You aren't alone anymore. You aren't evil."
"You're the only one in the world who thinks so." I reply with a smile.
He laughs a little and leaves through the door. What a supportive boy, I swear. He actually is growing on me, suprisingly.
"Sit, Rio." I say coldly, trying to look mysterious I guess.
"What do you want to talk about?" Her voice breaking down. I can tell she is nervous.
"Nicky. Why didn't you let me say goodbye?" I say, straighforwardly.
"I- I did let him say goodbye. I know that Mefisto wanted his soul and took him, but before he did I gave you six years, Agatha." She says swirling her words. "He gave you two kisses before he went, I told him to say goodbye. One for him, one for me."
I don't say anything back, looking anywhere but at her. I can't believe what she said, it hurts too much. Everything I believed in is a lie. I thought that she was a heartless monster but now I can't believe that anymore. She let him say goodbye. No, she told him to say goodbye.
"My love." She cups my face and looks straight into my eyes. "Please say something."
"I don't know what to say to you, Rio. Everything is different than I thought." Tears in my eyes give away the pain inside of me.
She takes her right hand and wipes away the few fallen tears, not breaking eye contact.
"I am so sorry for everything that happened. I know you can't forgive me for it but can you at least think about having me in your life again?" She says barely audible, I can feel the hesitation.
"I don't know, I don't know anything. Just give me time to think about everything." I say, being as careful as I can as to not to push her away. I want to run, dissapear but I can't. Not when she is this vulnerable with me.
"I tried to give you as much time as possible with him, even under given circumstances. I hope you understand that I couldn't control the outcome." She says heartly.
"I think my mind knows and accepts that, but my heart still breaks at the mention of his name." I say, this time looking into her eyes, being vulnerable. "I accept that and I will give you as much time as you need." She leans in and kisses my forehead. Her smile very big.
"Can I hug you, Agatha?" She asks sweetly, almost as if she is scared for the answer.
"You really should." I say playfully, to lighten up the mood.
She quickly hugs me tight. Her hands are trembling, breath shaky. At first I can feel her being tense, but soon enough she winds down and practically colapses into the hug. I feel tears run down my cheek but I have no intentions of pulling away. For the first time in this many years, I feel like being here. With her. For a second, all the anger and hate fades away. It's like this calmness after the storm. Perfect.
"I'm sorry that I was an imposition here, I didn't mean to sneak up on you like that." She says in my shoulder, where her head is currently rested.
"It's okay, really. But I would love to sleep." I say in a raspier voice than I intended. Exhaustion is finally catching up to me.
"Well you should go, I'll take my leave. See you sometime." She pulls away and begins to stand up. I quickly grab her by the hand.
"Don't go. I mean, I don't know whether it's the alcohol or just my feelings, but I want you to stay. I don't know what the future holds and I would understand if you think this is unfair to you, but I want to be with you tonight an-" I quickly ramble along with my words before she cuts me off.
"Shh, I'd love nothing more than to be with you this night, Agatha. Even if it's just for tonight and you go back to despising me." Her voice a bit more stern, eyes looking softly at me. "I don't think I could ever fully hate you, Rio." I blurt out. Why did I say that?
She gently takes my hand and leads me to bed. Once I get in, she goes around and lays on the other side of the bed. I turn around from her, scared of what would happen if I faced her. I start to drift off to sleep little by little, thoughts trying to fight the exhaustion but exhaustion is winning by a lot. As I am almost asleep, I can feel the bed shift and soon enough Rio's arm is draped over my side, pulling me closer to her.
She used to do this a lot, when we were together, in her sleep. Even with the though persona, she's actually a big cuddler. I always found it so cute, because she never seemed to be one. We used to go on these little cute dates all the time and she would always be hugging me or holding my hand. I do really miss that.
After the initial shock, I finally drift of to sleep, feeling secure and warm.
I wake up to people whispering and the sound of photos being taken. I open my eyes and see that my coven is staring at me, not understanding why. Suddenly, I feel someone underneath me and that's when I remember what happened last night. I freak out for a second, my heart practically beating out of my chest. I feel her move, thigthening her grip around me.
"What are you all doing in this room?" I look at the time and it shows 12:32. Damn, I need to admit that it was an amazing sleep.
"Well we wanted to see if you both didn't kill each other because it was really qiuet all night and morning." Jen says qiuetly, not to wake up Rio. I can see that she is a bit wary of her.
"Well, you can see that we are both alive and well. You did not need to take photos of us." I whisper-scream at them. They all take a step back and run out the door laughing loudly.
I can feel Rio shift below me. I look up at her and see her green eyes staring at me.
"They are quite funny, aren't they?" She says to me with a smile. Her raspy voice gives me butterflies, just like it used to before.
