The next day, Dongmin was lazily sprawled on the couch, flipping through random channels on TV without much interest. Jihoon was nearby, deeply engrossed in a game on his phone, occasionally muttering to himself in frustration.
Dongmin, lost in his thoughts, smirked as he replayed the realization from last night. Woonhak really hadn't put two and two together. He didn't even think to ask Jihoon whose number he'd been texting all this time. If Woonhak had, Jihoon would've spilled the truth immediately. But this way was much more entertaining—Dongmin could already imagine the look on Woonhak's face when he eventually figured it out.
He chuckled to himself.
Jihoon glanced up, his mischievous streak kicking in. "What's so funny?"
Dongmin tilted his head toward Jihoon with a faint smile. "Oh, nothing much. Just thinking about something."
Jihoon narrowed his eyes suspiciously. "Something or someone?"
Dongmin ignored the jab and changed the subject. "Hey, how's your friend doing?"
Jihoon didn't look up from his phone. "Which friend?"
Dongmin suppressed his grin. "Woonhak. You know, the one you ditched the other day to hang out with me."
Jihoon shrugged, still focused on his game. "Woonhak? He's good, I guess. Why?"
Dongmin's eyes widened slightly as the confirmation clicked into place, and a knowing smile spread across his lips. So it was like that. These two complete idiots had mixed up numbers. It was hilarious and, honestly, a little satisfying.
But then Jihoon paused his game, his expression shifting into confusion. "Wait, how do you know Woonhak?"
Dongmin's smirk didn't falter as he casually shrugged. "Maybe you mentioned him before."
Jihoon stared at him for a moment, his suspicion flickering, but he eventually shrugged it off and went back to his game.
Satisfied, Dongmin pulled out his phone and opened his chat with Woonhak, eager to see what chaos awaited.
Woonhak: Man, working part-time jobs is hard. 😩

Woonhak: I need motivation.

Dongmin: What, like the money?
Woonhak: Exactly! See, you get it.
Dongmin: Wow, I'm honestly shocked you even work.
Woonhak: Hey! 😤 I'm a hardworking guy. Gotta save up for my dreams, you know?
Dongmin: What dreams? Buying more basketballs to play alone?
Woonhak: Ouch! Take that back!
(seen)
Woonhak: Ahem... Anyways, I have bigger dreams! Huge ones, actually.
Dongmin: Enlighten me. What grand ambitions are keeping you going?
Woonhak: I'm saving up for concert tickets and a flight to LA!
Dongmin: What concert? Who would be insane enough to let you into their concert?
Woonhak: My favorite singer, thank you very much. And trust me, when I'm done with my job, I'm getting those tickets.
Dongmin: Sure. Out of curiosity, what job are you doing that'll fund this fantasy trip?
Woonhak: You won't believe it.
