Dongmin didn't even realize it was the weekend until he walked into the living room and saw Jihoon lounging on the couch, playing a game on his phone. His brows furrowed slightly before it clicked— right, he was still suspended from school. That's why he lost track of the days.
He yawned, rubbing his neck as he shuffled toward the kitchen, grabbing a quick breakfast. His phone vibrated on the table just as he finished eating. He picked it up and unlocked it to see a text from Woonhak.
Woonhak (9:07 AM):
Ughhh this is hell.
Woonhak (9:08 AM):
I have to work the entire day because I skipped once. This is oppression.
Dongmin smirked and typed back.
Dongmin: LOL, suffer.
Woonhak: You're evil. Where's your sympathy?
Dongmin: Gone. Never had it.
Woonhak: Wow. At least pretend to care.
Dongmin: Okay. *clears throat* Oh no, poor you. That must be so hard. Stay strong, buddy.
Woonhak: That was the most insincere thing I've ever read. Worse than a chatbot.
Dongmin smirked at his phone, enjoying how easy it was to get on Woonhak's nerves. This guy was too fun to mess with.
Woonhak: Whatever. It's so boring here. Barely any customers, I'm just standing here doing nothing.
Dongmin: That's a dream job, what's the problem?
Woonhak: The problem is, I also have to clean. It's cruel and unusual punishment.
Dongmin: Good. Builds character.
Woonhak: 🤬
Woonhak: I skipped that day for the magazine shoot. So technically, it was work. Why am I being punished for working?
Dongmin: LMAO, you're really trying to justify yourself.
Woonhak: It's true!
Dongmin just shook his head, amused. This idiot was whining like a kid.
Later, another notification popped up.
Woonhak: Anyway, I've been thinking... You know how we were talking about Jihoon that night? I think you're lying. You totally know him, don't you?
(seen)
Woonhak: It's okay. You can admit it. I won't judge. Much.
(seen)
Dongmin smirked as he typed a reply.
Dongmin: Your overthinking is unmatched.
Woonhak: So you're saying I'm wrong?
Dongmin: I'm saying you're ridiculous.
Woonhak: Pfft. If I'm ridiculous, then what does that make you?
Dongmin: Smarter than you.
Woonhak: Okay, genius, tell me this— how do you know so much about Jihoon if you're not connected to him?
Dongmin laughed quietly to himself. He wasn't going to give Woonhak the satisfaction of an answer just yet. Let him stew in his confusion a little longer.
Dongmin: That's for me to know and you to figure out.
Woonhak: Ugh, you're so annoying.
Dongmin: You talk about him most of the time. How wouldn't I know?
Woonhak: Hmmm...
Dongmin could tell Woonhak was still thinking about it, but he was done entertaining him.
