[no mutations in this AU, Logan is an actor and Wade is the director's assistant, and a diehard fan, kind of age-gap]

Wade adjusted his tie in the car mirror, clearing his throat and fixing his hair.

Today was his first day at his new job, an assistant to one of the biggest movie producers in Hollywood. This was the moment he had been working for his whole life, and he wasn't going to fuck it up.

He stopped out of his banged up red Volkswagen Beetle, adjusting his tie one last time before walking into the filming studio.

Meanwhile, in his dressing room, Logan Howlett was sitting in front of a bright mirror, downing a couple of pills with a swig of something from a flask, presumably alcohol. It had been a rough last few months of filming. He missed his house and his dog back at home, in Alberta. But, that's what he'd signed up for when he chose this life. He knew what came with a life of acting. Fame, fortune, addiction and loneliness. But that's not what they have you believe. He was an actor, afterall.

He stood, adjusting his collar and making his way back to the set. Everyone questioned where he had been, but he brushed them off. His makeup artist sprinted up to him, fixing his hair and powdering his face before scurrying off.

It was the same crew he'd been working with for the past three months, but there was someone new. Beside the producer was a young man, late twenties at most, scribbling something on a notebook. He was quite handsome, with a chiseled jaw and short brown hair. He looked like a movie star, standing under the bright lights; although he seemed to be just an assistant. Logan shook it off, getting into his spot as everyone got ready to shoot the scene. Logan, or his character, Steve, would have to make dinner and get a call from his ex-wife, a pretty basic scene.

After about three hours of filming, the director had enough, and everyone parted ways. Logan made his way to his trailer, letting out a deep sigh as his door slammed shut behind him.

He changed into a wife beater and sweatpants that hung low on his hips as he stretched out on his couch. Exhaustion had begun to set in his bones, deep worry lines on his forehead, and his brow furrowed. Just as his eyes had begun to flutter shut, there was a tentative knock at his door.

He groaned, cussing quietly.

"Who is it?!" He yelled.

"Uh, it's Wade, the new assistant. My boss wants to see you," an unfamiliar voice calls out, sounding a little shaky.

"Tell him I'll be there in 15!" He grumbles, rolling off
the couch and thumping on the floor.

"Are you ok sir?" The man asks.

"Yeah yeah, go on, scram!" He hears the shuffle of feet as the assistant runs away, and he sighs with regret, standing and grabbing a gray zip up hoodie.

He walks into the producers office twenty minutes later, a scowl on his face. He wasn't a dick, but it's easier to hide your pain when everyone thinks you are one.

He sits down, and the producer begins to talk to him about a change in the script. He is only half paying attention, half looking at the assistant, who is typing on a laptop in the corner of the room. Another thing he'd always kept from the public was his sexuality. Sure, he's publicly dated lots of women, but all his relationships with men had been secret and personal.

But something about this man drew him in, igniting a spark in his chest. Butterflies. He hadn't felt that in a long time.

The meeting wrapped up, and he and a few of his co-stars decided to go for drinks. He spotted Wade shuffling to his car, and called out to him.

"You wanna come for drinks kid?!" Wade froze, blinking in surprise.

"Really?" The assistant squeaked, shoving his hands in his pockets.

"Yeah, I mean if you want," a couple of logan's coworkers gave him funny looks, but he brushed them off.

"Yes, yeah I'll come"

The Logan Howlett was asking him to get drinks. He couldn't believe his ears. He'd been a loyal fan of the actor since he was a kid, and now he got the chance to not only work with him, but go for drinks with him?! He was stunned into silence as the group walked to a local bar.

"You ok bub?" He was startled as Logan looked at him with a furrowed brow.

"Yes, I'm just like... a really big fan," he admitted, flushed with embarrassment. Logan let out a hearty chuckle, patting him on the shoulder.

"I appreciate that mate, but I promise, being famous isn't all it's chalked to be," the actor grinned, shoving him playfully, and going back to talking to his co-stars.

After a few drinks, Wade was a little tipsy, watching Logan chat with his coworkers. The actor caught his gaze, an unfamiliar expression in his eyes that made Wade shiver. Logan stood, saying something to his co-stars, before swiftly making his way to Wade, wrapping an arm around his waist.

"You wanna head back to my place?" The actor offered, his words slurred.

"W-what?" Wade blinked, his cheeks heating up.

"You, me, a bottle of wine..." Logan whispered in his ear. Wade shivered, his body reacting to the interaction.

"You know what? Why not," he swallowed thickly, letting Logan lead him out of the bar.
