Ada couldn't remember her life before the maze.
She always liked to think she was important, either to something or somebody before. But then again, how important could she have been if they trapped her in the Glade? She gave up these hopes a month after already being in the Glade. She came to terms with the fact she will never know who she was exactly and why she was so unfortunate to be thrown into a Glade with an unsolvable maze to escape from. And to be the only girl in a community full of other teenager's like her, but boys.
Yeah, you can imagine her fear-stricken face when she came up into the caged box and only see boys peering down at her. It was difficult at first but they had a leader, Nick, and laws were ensued for her to have a little more special treatment considering she was a girl stuck with boys. She got her own little hammock under its own cabana a little ways away from the boys and her own shower away from the encampment which she would go to at night so no wandering eyes would follow. She slowly started to form relationships over time, growing close to those specific few who she would call her family, considering she had no recollection of her real family.
Ada was the Keeper of the Bricknick's, one of the jobs that very first Glader's had in place they to keep structure and order in the Glade. Basically, she repaired whatever the builder's built. But, everyone in the Glade knew it was her blueprints and ideas she sculpted for their everyday structures and appliances. Ada knew for a fact she was some sort of mechanic prior to the Glade, her innovative imagination is what kept the Glade thriving. They wouldn't have the water can made out of sticks and weeds if not for her, neither would they have the fridge like container she invented to perverse their meats, milk and eggs.
