Kushi and Anjali were seated next to each other but they were both floating in their own thoughts and self questioning. Deep down both knew something was wrong, but which part they couldn't figure out. Haan, there was one similarity though, they were both worried for Arnav.
Payal was worried, she saw Arnav and Lavanya meeting outside Shantivan that too un-noticed by anyone. Payal understands the modern world, changing barriers but one thing that she couldnt understand is what was the need for them to meet outside Shantivan, no one would question them even if they chattered right in the middle of the house. To be frank she was thinking about Kushi. But the fact that Payal didnt know is, Kushi was drunk that night and was outside.
It was a very calm afternoon at Shantivan unlike Payal's heart which was disturbed, she didnt know whether to say this to Kushi or if she is exaggerating this. Payal took a long breathe and knocked Kushi's door.
Kushi opened the door, she instantly had a child like smile on her face
Kushi: Jiji, aap!! Please come in... First tell me who knocks before entering a sisters room?
Kushi made a doubtful Payal sit down and held her hands. Payal smiled at her innocent sister, and at same time worried how she would survive this harsh world
Payal: But now my small sister is grown and married, that too love, so I need to be overcautious. (laughed jovially and then patted on her head) See i forgot the reason why I came here
Kushi's face turned a bit pale
Kushi : Jiji , you can come here even if you don't have a reason. I'm the same Kushi to whom you used to tell even small small things
Payal was speechless for a moment, she knew Kushi was upset. But she couldnt figure whether if it was She or Arnav was the reason for that.
Payal (worried) : Kushi , what's with you? Is everything alright between you and Arnav ji.
Kushi stood up in dismay
Kushi: jiji , this is what exactly I was talking about. I'm talking about us and you are bringing Arnavji in between. I'm just trying to fix things between us jiji, and you are not interested in anything but things between me and Arnav ji, and I have nothing to talk about it. Why don't you understand?
Kushi for the first time was harsh on her sister, and she knew it was wrong, but she feared she might spill the actual marriage to her jiji. The family has undergone a lot of pain because of her and now she don't want to rekindle it.
Payal stood up, her patience was out of the window,
Payal: Did you understand me Kushi ? It's like someone erased a few pages in my memory, you were my sister and then suddenly you were his wife, I'm not able to process that kushi. So get used to the fact that I'm gonna ask about you and Arnav ji , because I care, because you are still my sister whether you think me like that or not. "

FanfictionThis is my slightly different take on how Arnav and Kushi's life turned around after their forced marriage. There is no question if they love each other or not, its only how much? And this story is all about that love - how it breaks, how it suffers...
