Chapter 21 After Party Announcement

In the throne room of Outworld, Kitana, Liu Kang, the members of the court, and a few others of their friends were there as they all could hear the new announcement.

"I know that everyone couldn't make it to this announcement, Liu Kang, but I'll be sure to give the message to my parents after this." Cassie Cage told as Jacqui, Takeda, and Kung Jin nodded. "Thank you all who could join us. This announcement is regarding our son, Lijin." Liu Kang motioned for his eldest son to step forward. "Liu Kang and I have decided to end our son's engagement to Atara, daughter of Nemera and Arawn."

Everyone in the court began to mumble to themselves as Atara was angry about the announcement. That was her only chance to be part of the royal family. Zarina smiled at the fact that her sister was not getting her away like always. Their parents, however, were not pleased with the news. Nemera was the spitting image of Zarina as she also wore a veil over her head. Not only that, but she was a countess like Jade. Arawn resembled Atara, and he was known to be a skilled hunter. Something that (Y/n) despised the most about him.

"Your majesty! Forgive me for saying this, but this announcement is outrageous! My daughter was promised to be married to the Royal Family!" Nemera exclaimed. "True, she was promised, but seeing how your daughter has been treating those around her, she is no longer fit for my son." Kitana stood firm in her decision.

"Nice, bro! You won't have to marry her anymore!" Aiden cheered as Leo playfully slapped Lijin's back.

"But this isn't fair! The elders of the court announced our engagement when Princess (Y/n) and Princess Meena wouldn't choose a suitor from the many choices they were given!" Atara complained. "Excuse me?! I've chosen Skye, and they are the one I wish to be with!" Meena yelled out. "As for my big sister not choosing a suitor, I remember a few of you treated her poorly because of her ability to speak to the animals of both realms. And I also remembered a few of you said that if one of you married her, then all she's good for is breeding the next generation in the Royal house." Bolin glared at a few noble boys as they looked away from the youngest prince. "Yes, I have not forgotten how many of you treated my eldest daughter when she was a young child, but she soon gained your respect over the years." Liu spoke as a few more nobles lowered their head in shame. A few have indeed treated (Y/n) poorly when she was younger, but she did gain their respect as she grew up. Well, except for Atara and her parents.

"Like my sister and I, we will allow our children to be who they wish." Kitana proclaimed as everyone except for Atara and her parents cheered. Lijin smiled as he was finally freed from his arranged marriage. He looked over to Emerald as she stood with her family. He smiled at her as she smiled back. He knew that he wanted to be with her again, but it wouldn't be easy.

Suddenly, the communication talismans that Liu Kang and Kitana had began to glow, which meant one thing. They were able to see what (Y/n) has been up to. Everyone gathered around as they watched Princess (Y/n) begin her new adventure with her new friends. They thought everything was going smoothly until they saw that (Y/n) had to help Ace with his problem, engage in kombat with Leona, learn how to make tarts, etc.

"Looks like big sister is having her hands full." Azura held Bolin's hand. "Yeah, everything seems fine right now." But Bolin was wrong about that. They saw that Riddle had become a tyrant as he unleashed his magic on everyone. The entire room gasped as they saw (Y/n) getting injured by Riddle. "There's your precious princess; she can't even protect those boys!" Atara pointed out. Everyone began to worry until (Y/n) made her plan to stop Riddle. With teamwork, they witness their princess defeating Riddle from his tyranny. Everyone cheered at the princess's battle. "You were saying about my cousin?" Meena gave a smug look. Kitana and Liu Kang gasped as they watched (Y/n) comfort Riddle from the pressure he endured from his mother. They can see why she was willing to forgive him quickly. Kitana made a promise if she ever met that woman, then both mothers were going to have a VERY long conversation, well mostly Kitana doing all the talking. Everyone was relieved to see (Y/n) and her new friends enjoying themselves at the do-over unbirthday party.

"Well, Princess (Y/n) is right. I did find it fascinating to know that someone bares a similar ability to mine." Syzoth smiled. "This is very new to all of us since they show power, unlike anything of Earthrealm and Outworld." Baraka spoke up. "From what we've witnessed, Princess (Y/n) has shown great strength." Kotal smiled. "The young warrior is growing stronger every day." Nightwolf nodded. "And it looks like my sister got herself some new boyfriends." Bolin joked. "Is she going to marry one of them?" Azura asked innocently. "Those males are strong, but I'm not sure if they are entirely worthy of your sister, young princess." Sheeva spoke as she kneed to Azura. "It may be too early to determine who would be a suitable match for my granddaughter, but we shall see soon." Sindel told as Jerrod held her hand.

(Y/n)'s she-beasts were in awe as they saw (Y/n) having fun at the end of her adventure. They still whimpered at the thought of not being with her. They wished the four of them could be at her side again. Then, all of a sudden, the room began to shake as everyone was gasping and screaming. Out of nowhere, a portal opened up; everyone quickly stepped back as they feared what would come out. The she-beasts, however, smelled something familiar inside the portal. They sniffed the air once more before they howled and roared in delight. They knew that scent anywhere, and they wanted to get it to now. Without thinking, the four of them ran inside the portal. Kitana and Liu Lang tried to stop them, but it was too late, the portal closed along with the she-beasts disappearing.

"Where'd they go!?" Kung Jin exclaimed. "That portal just came out of nowhere." Tomas gasped. "I was able to read their minds before they ran in." Takeda told. "What did they say?" Jacqui asked. "They said, that's her. Let's just hope that's the same realm (Y/n) is in rather than a trick." Takeda announced. Everyone just hoped that the she-beasts would find (Y/n) soon so that they could be together again.

After the meeting, Lijin asked Emerald to meet him by the gardens. He didn't let her wait long as he found her admiring the flowers. He walked over to her, and they both stared at each other. They said nothing until Linin was the first to speak. "Emerald, I know I hurt you by calling off our relationship, but now that I'm free, I want to be with you again." He held her hand. "I won't lie; you've hurt me deeply, but I can't also blame you for what the elders of the court put you through." Emerald squeezed his hand. "I wish to be with you and must earn back like you've done before. Start making it up to me, you too, but you, and when we find (Y/n), I want you to apologize to her." Emerald requested. Linin nodded as he leaned his head against Emerald's. He had tasks to complete to be with Emerald again and to bring his sister back home.
