To My Sweet Allen, Goodbye

To my sweet dear Allen, my dream, my love...
You fill my heart and mind like stars above...
But lately, love, it's hard to lie...
Things have been rough, I can’t deny...

Before you read even further...
Please know my love is strong as ever...
Yet something aches and pulls me down...
A weight too heavy, I nearly drown...

I know you're busy, working for "us"...
And though you say it's worth the fuss...
I'm starting to wonder, my love so dear...
Am I enough? Can I persevere...?

Stress builds high, my heart's grown sore...
Three months, maybe more...
And though I fight to keep my stride...
Deep down, I feel the need to hide...

Is it normal to feel this way?
To hurt, to ache each passing day...?
I try to smile, I try to cope,
But my heart sinks, losing hope...

Work weighs heavy, worries too...
And in it all, I’m missing you...
Yet fear holds tight--would I be a strain...?
A burden on you with all my pain...?

Everything's clashing in a war within...
And still, it’s you I want to win...
You're my calm, my anchor, my light...
But alone, I'm fading from the fight...

Is this sadness fleeting, or am I lost...?
In a storm of thoughts I cannot exhaust...
And I'm sorry if this sounds like too much...
My words, my feelings, they’re just a crutch...

You’re the one I need by my side...
The one who could make these dark clouds hide...
Without you here, it’s hard to stay...
I miss your warmth each endless day...

So, my dearest Allen, please forgive...
The weight of emotions I try to outlive...
I love you, I miss you, more than words can show...
In my heart, there’s fear, but I won’t let go...

Please know, when tears come or when I seem to rage...
It’s not a fight I plea, but a cry from a cage...
I’ll find my way back to brighter skies...
But, for now, please give me time to rise...

I love you, Allen... please wait for me...
Until I am strong again, until I’m free...
