Ch~18 || Realization

Taehyung ran a hand through his hair, sighing as he leaned back on his chair, his feet crossed over his table. It had been two weeks since the attack and he had been tense ever since. He had just received a call updating him about the third party which added onto his tension.

Suddenly, the door opened revealing two grinning faces. Hoseok or also called Hobi and Jimin who were his closest friends. They demeanors were in great contrasts to Taehyung's tense expression.

"Hey, man" He said patting his back "What's with that face?"

"Looks like you haven't slept in days" Hobi added, sitting infront of taehyung and stretching out his legs with a grin "You do know there's a thing called sleep right?"

He let out a small laugh, the tension in his shoulder's easing slightly "Wouldn't exactly call it restful these days"

Jimin became serious as we spoke "Well, I heard about Yn's uncle disappearing. What's up with that? And what about the third party?"

Taehyung exhaled feeling frustrated "I thought we were getting somewhere. We found a while back that there had been transactions from dummy accounts We traced it back to someone connected to a powerful family"

"Could it be someone we know?" Hobi spoke, his voice low and thoughtful.

"I don't think so. Atleast not directly" Taehyung replied, his fingers tapping against his desk. "Who ever it is. There are good at hiding. Even with the account tracing and everything my men could pull up, we still can't pinpoint their identity. Just a bunch of connections"

Jimin crossed his arms leaning against the desk "Well as far as i know its pretty deep. I mean your grandfather and Yn's father are both dead. Why would someone kill both of them? It has to have a deeper motive."

"Its like every time we think we made a breakthrough, there's just another layer" Taehyung muttered.

Hobi frowned, clearly troubled. "Have you informed Yn about this?"

"No. Not yet. I have to be careful when telling this. She's been through so much already" Taehyung spoke.

Jimin raised a eyebrow, a small smile tugging at his lips "Protective much?"

Taehyung rolled his eyes but didn't deny "Well the last thing I want is to add to her worries. She has started to relax a bit and i don't her to tense up again"

"I mean she is involved in this. She deserved to know" Jimin said. Taehyung couldn't deny the truth in his words.

"I just don't want to give her another reason to lookover her shoulder" He spoke as he fell silent.

The Three friends began discussing seriously when the two friends decided to tease taehyung.

Jimin, always the playful one, shot hobi a mischievous grin as he casually leaned against the desk.

"So, Tae" Jimin started  his voice teasing randomly bringing up Yn again. "How's everything going on with...you know, her?"

Taehyung's eyes flickered up, narrowing at the comment, "What are you talking about?"

Hobi leaned back in his chair, arms crossed, smirking "Don't play dumb. We know about the little scene the other night" He paused for dramatic effect, raising an eyebrow "The kiss, The gentle kiss you have her at the corner of her lips, You told us"

Taehyung froze for a moment, as he recalled the memory. He was still thinking about the kiss he had planted on Yn, not knowing if it was okay to do so and Now his friends were bringing it up.

"It wasn't like that" He said almost too quickly clearing his throat. "It was just a moment more like an impulse"

Jimin's grid widened "Just a moment? oh we can tell it was more than that bro. You have been acting weird ever since. There is a sparkle in your eyes when you talk about her .YN this, YN that. You're practically glowing."

Hobi chuckled " I didn't know you were so soft for her, Tae. And that kiss? Smooth move. I think the guy who's used to pulling off business deals like a pro might be trying his hand at romance."

Taehyung's face flushed with irritation and embarrassment " I'm not-" he started to defend himself but jimin cut him off.

"Sure, sure. But you're not fooling anyone. You've got it bad Tae" Jimin teased, "Who would have thought? The notorious CEO, actually falling for someone. I guess it have was bound to happen eventually huh?"

Hobi laughed out loud, throwing his head back on his chair "I can already see it. The great Taehyung, the mastermind behind every deal, now suddenly rendered speechless by a woman" He shook his head chuckling "Is this how the mighty fall?"

Taehyung rolled his eyes, trying to hold back his smile despite the teasing. He knew they were just messing with him, but there was a part of him that knew they weren't completely wrong. Lately, he had been thinking a lot about yn. Her thoughts filled his mind more than it should have. Her presence, her sweet smile, the way she looked at him, how feisty she was and how she would reject his accidental touches, or his teasing gestures with a stern glare. It all had been been creeping into his mind.

"I'm not falling for anyone" Taehyung replied "It's just ...complicated"

Jimin leaned in, his expression now mock serious "complicated huh? Yeah Im sure it is. Let me guess, You are the one who wants to be profession and distant but she is making it difficult right?"

Taehyung sighed, raking his hand through his hair "It's not like that" His words felt half hearted "I just don't want to complicate things with everything going on. She deserved to be safe and to focus on her business not whatever this is"

Jimin and Hobi glanced at each other as they read through his mind and how we was trying to compose himself and hide his feelings.

"You're already complicating it Tae" Jimin said, his tone slight softer "By trying to act like you don't feel anything. She's not some business deal or contract to keep at arm's length and maintain professionalism."

Hobi added "And worse, if you keep avoiding her, you are gonna miss your shot"

Taehyung bit his lip, a flash of frustration appearing on his face "I'm not avoiding anything. I just...I need to handle it differently"

"Yeah well" Jimin grinned mischievously "Good luck with that. I don't its that easy"

"Especially not with you two around" Taehyung muttered under his breath, his eyes narrowing. But he couldn't help the smile tugging at his lips. Soon the laughter died down as they got back to work. But taehyung still couldn't the shake the thoughts of Yn in the back of his mind. 

He was too against the fact of having feeling for her. That it was almost too hard for him to accept. There was dangers surrounding them and his top priority was Yn. His mind wandered to the fleeting kiss they had shared. 

Even though it wasn't an actual kiss, it had meant a lot more to him than he'd let on.
