(Cas' POV)

Deep breaths, Cassie. I pulled a jumper over my head. First day, first day, first day!
And I'm late, late, late.
Dean and I each got the little kids ready and grabbed a piece of toast. Not very healthy, but late on the first day? Sure it'd give us that 'bad boy' vibe, but do I really want the label of 'That Gay Hipster Bad Boy Artsy Nerd That Probably Has A Tumblr And Is Dating Dean Winchester Who Is Also A Gay Nerd With A Tumblr'? Actually, that sounded appealing. Screw it.
I know I forgot something. As soon as I walked into the giant doors. My baby. My sketchbook! How was I going to survive!?
I pulled on the sleeve of Dean's bomber jacket. "Dean?" I whispered meekly. "I forgot my sketchbook."
"You'll live. What have you got first?" He whispered back.
"Man, I don't even know. What even is college?" I looked around at everything and all the students.
"It's an educational institution or establishment, in particular. Or it's an organisation group of professional people with particular aim, duties and privileges. I'm guessing we're at the first one." Dean smiled at me. He was taking it all in.
"Dictionary?"
"How'd you guess?" Dean said, playfully hitting my shoulder.
"Lucky" I was scared and I didn't want Dean to see.
"Well, we're here for 120 semester credits. I think. That's for bachelors degree? I don't really know how to college."
"Ha. Me neither" I laughed.
"Well, I've got Communication first"
"You're taking communication? I mean, me too, but I've got it later."
"I guess this is goodbye." Dean looked sad.
"No, that's too final. See you soon." I waved a little. Thursday morning. Starting school. Beautiful weather. Deep breath Cassie.
I headed to... Art History. Great. That's just going to remind me of how I forgot my sketchbook. At least art's a cool subject. Hopefully they cover Dali. He's a favourite of mine.

I sat next to a girl very red hair and a Star Trek t-shirt. I made the Vulcan hand symbol, making sure she saw. Unless she was fake.
"Trek or Wars?" She asked, not even looking up from her Harry Potter fanfiction.
"Hmmmm that's a tough one. I'm gonna have to go with Doctor Who." I smiled.
She finally looked up. "Hello fellow homosexual." She put out a hand for me to shake.
"You can tell? Is it that obvious?"
"I've got a seventh sense. Hint; it's not that my breasts can tell when it's raining. My name's Charlie." She seemed really cool.
"Novak. Cas Novak." I shook her hand.
"Woah there double-oh-seven. You're squeezing my hand really tight." She rubbed her hand. "Plus I've got my One Ring stabbing into my hand."
"Ouch. Sorry. I see you're a fangirl."
"I live for fandoms Cassidy. It's a lifestyle, not a hobby."
"It's Cas" I smirked.

At the end of Art History, I had one legitimate friend. I hoped Dean could say the same.
