(Dean's POV)

Sam and Gabe were going to try and set me and Cas up!?
I couldn't help but smile at the thought...
But then my brain, as it often does when I'm nervous, went into overdrive.

I was really scared...
I had known for a while I was gay...but I had never...you know..gone out with a guy before.
Now I thought about it...I wasn't even sure if I liked Cas in that way...I had never really had a friend before...oh god! What if I just liked him in a friend way...
Dang It!!
Why had I told him he was pretty....!?
Was I...Was I leading him on by saying that!?!
What if I didn't like him!!
And...what if he really did like me!?
...who am I kidding...
Of course he didn't like me...
He was cool, a hipster.
I was just a dork from Kansas...
But, the affectionate way he was looking at me now, with those amazing blue eyes I constantly got lost in, looked genuine.

I was so confused.

Surprisingly, as I was brought back down to earth, I realised all my thoughts had only taken the space of a second.
Sammy and Gabe were still grinning mischievously at me while Morgan Rose laughed cheerily, placing my steaming chai latte and Castiel's 'usual' coffee on the table in front of us.

I took a first gulp of the hot drink, relaxing into the warm and interesting flavour, when Gabe suddenly walked forward slightly, looking at me and Cas with a confused expression on his face, opening his mouth to speak,

"Are you two gonna kiss yet?"

Cas, who had just raised the coffee to his lips, started choking, and scowled bitchily at his younger brother, who was now giggling and hiding behind Sammy.

I, myself, turned bright red and brought my hands up, sleeves pulled tightly over them, attempting to hide my burning face.

Morgan Rose tried her best not to laugh...but didn't succeed.
She looked as though she was about to crack a rib from holding it in as she tried to look at us apologetically saying

"Sorry guys...I'll..urrm...get them out of your hair"

Before leading the two giggling boys behind the counter, bribing them with the not-so-secret sweets she kept hidden in the till.

As soon as they had gotten out of earshot, he turned to me with a slightly nervous face

"I'm so sorry about him...sorry...that must have been awkward"

It was...but I didn't want to hurt his feelings so I tried to smile, my face still a deep red, and said

"No, no...it's errm...it's fine..it ok, I don't mind"

Castiel's face lit up, relief washing over him.

"You don't mind? Good...I'm glad...sorry anyway."

It was strange seeing such a cool and confident guy look so young and nervous when he spoke to me, I though it was adorable, and gave him a genuine smile, raising the chai latte to my lips.

There was a comfortable silence for a few minutes, as we calmly sipped our hot drinks, every so often glancing at each other, smiling, and quickly looking away.

Cas broke the silence first, resting his coffee on the table, glancing nervously towards out brothers and Morgan Rose, she was keeping them busy, showing them how to make all the drinks, making the little boys laugh and smile.
He then turned to me and said

"So...urm..what do you fancy doing after this..unless...you just want to go back?..."

I thought for a minute, staring into the chai latte, wondering what to say...
What I really wanted to do was spend some time with Cas...alone.
So I could figure out my feelings towards him...but I pushed the thought away.
We should at least become friends first....then maybe something more...

I looked up and smiled at Cas, my glasses slightly steamed up by the hot drink, and answered

"I was wondering...maybe you could give me a little tour of the town..?"

Castiel smiled, but then looked down, shuffling his feet nervously, adjusting his beanie, before glancing up at me though his lashes.
He really was beautiful.

Cas quietly asked

"Alone?"

My breathing hitched and my pulse increased...
I wanted so bad to say yes...
Hell, it was exactly what I had just thought myself!
But I knew wasn't ready for this yet...I needed backup, in case something went wrong, which, with me, seemed to happen too often for my liking!
But what would I say!?
I didn't want to hurt Castiel's feelings....

I stared at Sammy, who was not-so-subtly eavesdropping from behind the counter, and gave him a helpless look, hoping he would understand.

Sammy, realising my thoughts, nudged Gabe, whispered something to him, before both bounded forwards, past Morgan Rose, who followed quickly, not wanting to miss anything.
The two small boys then yelled childishly at Castiel.

"NOOO, THAT'S NOT FAIR CAS!!! WE WANT TO COME TOOOO!!!"

"YEAH!!! YOU CAN'T LEAVE US ALONE!! THAT'S CHILD ABUUUSE!!!"

Castiel sighed and rolled his eyes, but an amused smile twitched at the edge of his mouth

"Fiiiine!! We'll ALL go! Morgan Rose, you fancy it?"

She shook her head sadly

"Sorry dude, I've still gotta finish my shift...I'll see you later though, ok?"

I took a last gulp of the delicious chai latte, stood up, and lead Sammy and Gabe towards the door, relieved that they were coming too.

Morgan Rose seemed to keep Cas back for a second, just as we walked out the door
I glanced back to see her winking suggestively at Cas and saying

"You two boys have fun, Ok?"

I couldn't help but smile as a tingling warmth grew in my stomach, and we stepped out of the cosy coffee shop and into the biting wind that didn't affect me at all.
