I had followed Jake to the bar. He was drinking heavily. A few hours later, Jake stood up and walked to his car. He started the car and reversed out of the parking lot. He started driving fast and out of nowhere a huge truck carrying gasoline came and bumped him. It caused the car to topple over and the gasoline spilled all over the car and just like that, Jake's car set on fire.... .
I woke up with a start. What a dream. I touched my face and realized that I was sweating and my heart was beating fast. I stood up and walked to the window. I looked at the view of the city in deep thought. What did the dream mean? Is Jake in danger? Is this some sort of sign? I walked out of the room and went to school to look for Jake. I found him at his locker taking out his books. He closed his locker and walked to his next class. Reluctantly, I followed him. I sat in Geography staring at the Jake the whole lesson. He looked like he was barely concentrating. Something was on his mind.
After Geography, he went to PE. I watched him play basketball for a while and followed him to the cafeteria at lunch. He sat with his usual clique. He was quiet the whole time while the other guys were talking about basketball. He just sat there clearly in his own world, oblivious about what was happening around him.
After school, Jake drove straight home. He ran upstairs and locked himself in his room. He put on his earphones and listened to his music on full blast, trying to block the world
around him. He looked lost, purposeless..... I sat on his chair watching him. He was completely broken. I just wanted to hug him and tell him that everything was going to be okay, but even I knew that that wasn't true. I was going to die and I wasn't going to see Jake or my friends and family again.
